I have never been to southern Spain before. So with a little hesitation I booked this hotel purely because of the advice from this website and some pictures you can see on gtahotelss web site.We stayed in Marbella the first night (read my review of the Gran Hotel Guadalpin) after going to Coin. The second night we stayed here after a day of inland site seeing in Rhonda and Garganta del Chora. The Hotel was easy to find - which in Malaga is a big benefit. Just head towards the centre and as you go down the main tree lined strip you will see it in among some fine old buildings and opposite the dock. The car will be valet parked for you in the hotels secure car park so dont mind just dumping it outside even though it is on double yellow lines.Service was prompt and friendly and the hotel has an air of trying to be stylish, with wooden floors and soft leather seating. Just past the lobby is a coffee bar where you can free coffee and pastries should you wish to do so.The room itself was of a good size and our room over looked the cathedral. The room again has wooden floors (laminate) and a nice bathroom with a free mini bar supplying beers and juices nice touch !It is a 15 minute walk up the hill to the castle and a 2 minute walk to the Picasso museum (with over 200 minor works) The modernised town is a minute away and loads of tapas bars are available. If you want a good hotel in Malaga and dont fancy being out of the way in the Parador then you really cant go wrong.Mr Anderson

Wonderful location; unobtrusive and very gentle staff. Everything the hotel's stuff did for us during two weeks stay, from the fresh flowers in our room to the selection of magazines on the night table; from the lovely brunch (gratis!) where we got to meet few our new friends will long be remembered by us. Excellent centrally located hotel with spotless air conditioned rooms. Staff very helpful and friendly. Pool on the roof is a bonus. Free minibar in the bedroom and also free minbar and coffee/cakes in the lounge between 12-5pm. Another feature is that the hotel has numerous fridges in public areas where you help yourself to bottled water. Restaurant has superb view of the port.

We stayed here with our 8 year old son in a triple room (ie a very large double). Everything about this place was great, and of the 7 hotels we stayed in on our Spanish trip, it was a cut above the rest.
Large room, good rates, spotlessly clean, helpful staff, great breakfast, free mini-bar, free cofffee bar, super comfy pillows/bed, roof top pool, great location.....the list could go on.
Instead, I'd recommend you check it out yourself.
