erstklassiges Hotel in ruhiger Lage, freundliches Personal

Broken promise reception
Breakfast: Good! Variety of hot and cold drinks, different kinds of bread an cheese, ham, marmalade, yoghurt, honey, fruit, croissants, etc.
Location: Good: the hotel is located at a quite less touristic part of the city center. In the surrounding streets are a few good authentic (not very touristic) restaurants. In a few minutes one can stand in the touristic center of venice and take a vaparetto (water-bus) at the grand canal.
Brought to an other location:
When we (my girlfriend and me) arrived at the hotel, we were told by the reception that there was a problem with the heating of the hotel and we were brought to an other place for one night. As a compensation for the inconvenience we would get a superior room in stead of the already paid standard room we booked.
The locanda we were brought to was fine (good location, ok breakfast, comparable room). after the first night we returned to the hotel ai mori D'oriente to stay for the other two nights.
Room ai mori d'oriente:
We received a small room on a second building at the ground floor. Even with the window open (outside temp minus one degrees) it was very warm in the room (with the temperature from the climatcontrol in the room turned to minus 10 degrees there still came very hot air out of the blower). All night we also smelled fire.
When i went to the reception the day after, i asked what kind of room i received. It was a standard room the person said. because it was the same person who promised me the superior room as a compensation for the inconvenience for staying at an other place, i remembered him we were promised a superior room. He said it was the biggest standard room the hotel had to offer and that it actually was a superior room, only to be named standard because it was on the ground floor. Nonsense! walking back to my hotelroom the cleaninglady left a few doors open: all bigger standardrooms! Disappointing, he better hadn't promised anything at all......

Just: PERFECT!
A beautiful small hotel just off the main tourist track, yet the heart of Venice. In 3 minutes you're already on the main street from the station to Piazza San Marco (about 20 min is sufficient). Thus one always has enough rest, and yet in a few minutes away from the scene.
Reception and check-in this case took place in a fast, easy and very friendly atmosphere. The rooms are quite typical for Venice, dreamy and very small but nicely decorated. The Intgernet shown in pictures on the various sides can only imagine how cozy it is here. Despite all this are for example the beds on the most modern state with solid good mattresses. Even the bathroom is small but again large enough to be able to stay in it for two. Recommended (), at least in the wintertime is a room with windows to the water. Very interesting to see how everything is handled in the morning there was one here only by boat with the truck `s known. Of odors (ie, "stinking Venice") is at least in the winter time, to feel absolutely nothing. Also, quite contrary to some other reviews, the breakfast was hervoragend! Well, looking for German, crispy rolls there in vain. But Pfeiff on it! The selection was adequate, fresh, taste fine and friendly, fast and good service. As any one in the entire hotel Excellent service was offered. Whether at home, in the (incidentally, well-equipped) bar, at breakfast or for other needs. To round off the whole thing was literally everything in terms of cleanliness "in the purest"!
Concluding Résumé: ANYTIME HAPPY AGAIN & ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!

Quiet & Comfortable
The only rooms in this hotel I do not recommend are the top floor "attic" rooms which are small and only have one window in the ceiling. We asked for a different room and were accomidated without any problems. The first room and the second room were a bit dusty but otherwise clean and comfortable. The double bed is 2 twin beds pushed together. As we are sisters this was not a problem but for a couple who might want to snuggle together at night that might pose a problem so keep it in mind.
The bathroom was clean and we were provided enough towels for two people along with very nice toiletries. We had a shower and a tub which was wonderful for a soak after a LONG day of walking all over Venice.
The television offered 2 24-hour movie channels in english which play the same 2 films all day and night switching the next day. This was a nice break from CNN which was the only other english speaking channel.
The breakfast room is open from 7:30 a.m - 10:30 with a wonderful selection of cereal, pastries, meats, cheeses, breads, juices, tea, and coffee.
The staff is professional, patient, bi-lingual, and very helpful regarding directions.
The only draw back we found were the lack of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. There are two and one of them really wasn't that fabulous. However, if you are looking to get away from most of the other tourists for some peace & quiet this place is perfect.
The hotel walls are a bit thin but not so thin that other guests kept us up at night.
The nearest vaparetto (water bus) stop is only a few minutes which was very handy.
The hotel is a good value for the money.
