We spent 2 nights in this hotel in July 2002. It was very clean and had beautiful rooms and common areas. The Alhambra entrance was a 10 minute walk. I would recommend.

Everything about this hotel was special and has been repeated in the above reviews. I want to particularly commend the concierge staff. Our luggage did not arrive when we did. For two days the staff was most helpful communicating with Iberia for us, getting us everything we needed and making sure that our stay in Granada for wonderful in spite of the Iberia aggrevation. Kudos to them!

Great view of Granada as this hotel is located on top of the hill. It is right next to the Alhambra which is a must see. We don't usually eat at hotels, so found a nice spot just down the road within walking distance. The hotel is beautiful and decorated in the same style as the Alhambra. Would stay here again. Also, if you have a car take a drive up to the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort which is about 13KM from town. Great views and a fun place.

Almbra Palace is a beautiful hotel. The locastion is amazing. From our room we had a view of the town that was just breathtaking. Our bathroom was a work of art. It is a much better location for relaxing than staying in the city and you still have access to all of the sites. Be sure to check out the snack bar amazing views and pretty good sandwiches. I would not recommend the tours that the hotel arranges, however. The flamenco is second rate and the tour of Alhambra is slow and very expensive.

This is a 4-star hotel that really deserves only 2-3 stars. The rooms are old and dowdy, much like many roadside Holiday Inns. Our room had the softest mattress we ever encountered, stains all over the rug, beat up furniture and a bedspread that looked like it hadn't been washed in a decade. The service is also brusque and the food average. True, the common areas look lush and the place has a great view of the city -- not the actual Alhambra. The hotel's location at the top of a very steep hill is isolated from the rest of the city and inconvenient to get to, especially at night when cabs are scarce. You can't savor this truly great city from this hotel. The only thing the ``Palace'' has going for it is that it is 5 minutes from the gates of the Alhambra.
Better to choose a hotel in the center of the city where you can walk to all the great shops, restaurants and squares and take a cab to the Alhambra for your visit there.

The room we stayed in had a great view but was nothing to write home about. A little dated and somewhat beat up. However, with the Alhambra only a ten minute walk there's no reason to waste your time in the room.Great terrace for drinks - I highly recommend watching the sun set. Good breakfast in the restaurant although it wasn't cheap. Very Moorish in style; it seems a little visually overwhelming at first but it definitely grows on you.Overall a good place to stay if you want to spend time at the Alhambra and can't get a room at the Parador.

We stayed for 2 nights in May 2003. The views of the city are fantastic but the rooms are very mediocre. There was a fiesta in Granada when we stayed so all restaurants were closed - includng the hotels - which meant we had to pay 20 euros for a plate of cheese and bread at the snack bar.
