* El Carmen - Behind the lobby water feature is El Carmen, serving buffet breakfasts and à la carte lunches and dinners. Starters include fish soup and Spanish smoked ham, with main courses concentrating on seafood and steak dishes with the Iberian Tenderloin Fillet with Mushrooms a specialty. El Carmen has simple decor with brick walls on one side. Drapes cut out noise and light from the busy street outside.
* A year round roof terrace has an unheated swimming pool and sun loungers. The terrace has views over Barcelona. Also on the fifth floor is a small fitness area with a limited range of exercise machines, a sauna, and a steam room.
* Three conference rooms cater for a range of business events, functions, and weddings. La Bodgullia space is in the basement, Salon Ambassador is the largest room catering for up to 200 dinner guests and Pintor Fortuny on the fifth floor has natural light and a terrace. The swimming pool and rooftop terrace can also be hired for functions. |

I booked this hotel before finding these reviews. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights 19th to 21st March, 2004. The Hotel's stituation is very good base for tourism and its general appearance, helpfulness of staff etc were fine.
Stayed at this hotel last week and it was brilliant! We had a triple room and unlike other hotels, had plenty of room. We were a bit concerned as we only saw the bad reviews on this site after we had booked the hotel. The staff were really polite and helpful, ...
Stayed here for New Year and having read the other bad reviews before leaving, was worried about what I might find. Asked for a quiet room, high up, and was offered an internal (i.e. away from the road) smoking room with double bed. Am a vehement anti-smoker b...
