Excellent hotel that is very central. Rooms large and very well furnished...rather Scandinavian styling. Good rates can be obtained here from a number of web brokers and a first rate breakfast can be included in the price. We stayed here for three nights and would have no hesitation in re-booking.

Great hotel, no chintz, very contempory without being achingly minimal :-) Confortable spacious room which was clean, fresh and well planned. Bathroom had a wet room shower and we loved the free rubber duck, two of those went home in our bags! Good food both in the restaurant and room service. Friendly helpful staff. Location was good with a short but stiff uphill walk to Edinburgh's haymarket, best to get a taxi to Waverley Sation if you have luggage. We were lucky and got a room wit a view of the castle.

We found this to be a great hotel. It is in a great location; very close to the Royal Mile and the Waverly train station we came in at. The various tour busses of the city stop right in front of the hotel and there are many little shops and pubs on the same street and more within walking distance. We chose just a standard room, but it was very nice and roomy. It had a nice sitting area and the bed was just fine. The room was always clean and the bathroom had a separate bath and shower. It even has a DVD player and you can rent DVDs. The front desk was helpful and had a cab waiting for us when we checked out. We would stay here again, it was very nice.

Stayed at the Apex City last weekend and had a great experience. We got a very low rate, room only, from accommodationow.com and went to a good cafe down the road for breakfast - bkfst-in-bed trolleys for ?11 looked just okay. The bar is very smart but service there a little slow. Bedooms were really modern, stylish, great beds, dvd/cd players, bath + wet room + very nice toiletries provided in bathroom. Apex City is in the best location - old part of town, cool boutiques and restaurants, 10 mins walk to the main drag. The staff were very helpful - efficiently calling taxis, stowing valuables, providing quick room service. I'd DEFINITELY stay here on my next visit to Edinburgh.

On a weekend break we decided on the Apex City. We stayed in a standard double room and were pleased with the space afforded us. The double bed was very comfortable. and the rubber duck in the bathroom delighted our toddler! We took room service breakfast - very nice, but on the second day we didn't get any butter for our toast, nor a bowl for our cereal! Excellent location - very close to everything. Only grouch was the cost of the Agua restaurant meal on our first night. ?‚?71 for two (plus inedible pizza for daughter which she shunned!). Very pricey meal considering the creme brulee was more like a chocolate mousse! Over all however, I would recommend the Apex City for luxury facilities in a very good location.

Apex was very nice indeed and you get to keep the rubber duck!
Bathrooms were great - heated mirrors and the colour scheme was very contemporary and calming. Room service was Fabulous! and breakfasts were brilliant. Staff were lovely. Only slight problem was they don't change the sheets every night and the room could have been slightly cleaner (maybe we just had a duff maid that day). Would definitely stay again, highly recommended. Very close to the centre of things.
