Charm
We were sorry we only had one night and day in Bergen because we enjoyed the city and the Augustin very much. After a bountiful breakfast we were close enough to go back and forth to the Fish Market area easily. Since our cruise left in the evening we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel and relax in the lobby after check out, thanks to hotel policy and the courteous staff. With minimal luggage we walked to the hotel from the train station, and from the hotel to Hurtigruten Terminal; 20 min each leg.

i stayed at the augustin for 3 nights at the end of may 2004. the room was spacious for european standards. the continental breakfast included in the rate was extensive; enough to keep you going for the day. the hotel lobby has a wonderful lounge that has self serve coffee, tea and make your own waffles in the afternoon; a wonderful way to relax after a day of sight seeing. the old wine cellar is wonderful for a meal and a glass of wine. The hotel also has a restaurant on premise that serves light fare. the location of the hotel is ok. not in the center of town. a 5 minute walk to the central fish market and square. it is nice and quiet and i would highly recommend it. everyone was wonderul and very helpfu.

We stayed at this charming Hotel in Bergen for a couple of nights during the week of the Bergen Festival. Comfortable, clean and well priced accomodation. This hotel had a large collection of art throughout the rooms and corridors in the hotel. Our room although not huge was on the corner of the building and had windows on three sides with a stunning view over the harbour to Bryggen and out to sea. Reception kindly let us take our room early as we arrived by train in the early morning. We had emailed them beforehand to advise them of this and had prompt courteous and friendly replies to our enquiry. The restaurant was comparitively well priced and the 400year old cellar and wine bar was cozy and welcoming for an evening relaxing and chatting about the day. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Afternoon waffles in the reception lounge bar very welcome after a days sightseeing. We were made to feel very comfortable and at home by the courteous and friendly staff.
