Not central, but good value for money
I recently returned from a trip to Vienna. I stayed at the Hotel Albatros. The hotel is located rather far from the city center, not within the walking distance, however there is direct transportation links are available just around the corner. The location is very quiet, nothing much going one around, thus making it safe place at night. The hotel is small and the public areas are tiny but well maintained. The staff was attentive and spoke English. The room was good, very clean, everything worked properly. That was my first time at Austria Trend Albatros Hotel and I found it to be very compact but functional place to stay, perhaps not the most convenient to city center, but a good value for money. |

Hotel Austria was all we expected and more. Travelling with my mother, I had reserved a twin room, and for no extra cost we were given a suite so she had her own bedroom, tv, minibar. The room was simply decorated, but large enough and modern. The hotel was always very quiet all all hours. The complimentary breakfast buffet was enjoyable, typical Austrian food - rolls, bread, jam, cold cuts, cheese, fruit. On Sunday, there was brioche and coffee cake. The location of the hotel was ideal, just a few blocks from Stephansdom and wonderful restaurants of every variety, yet completely quiet. Considering all the qualities of this hotel, it is a very good deal for the price. I would absolutely stay here again. |

Somewhat difficult to find but well worth the effort. This hotel is old but well maintained and spotlessly clean. It's located near the historic center of the city and an easy walk to most of the major sights. The staff of this small family run hotel really make the difference and all of them seem to really enjoy making their guests happy. With very little or no advance notice, the concierge has always been able to get us good tickets to events including some sold-out concerts. Nearby are several very good and moderately priced restaurants. |

This hotel was everything we had been looking for. It was absolutely silent day and night and our room was quite big and spotless. We requested a top floor room (to avoid noise) which was ready for us when we arrived. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was great. The hotel is very central but tucked into a quiet side street. It is also near some wonderful, authentically Austrian restaurants. We are generally very picky about where we stay, and this was well worth the slightly higher cost. |

We recently (June) spent 3 delightful days in Vienna and enjoyed our stay at Hotel Vienna. We loved the convenience of being able to walk to all the main attractions as well as the accessibility of the U-bahn nearby.
The staff was very helpful, the room was clean and quiet. We stayed on the 3rd floor, which is the non-smoking floor and I would highly recommend you put this in your request when booking, should you be a non-smoker.
The hotel is not part of the Airport bus route, but the hotel will send a driver to pick you up for $35 Euros. If you have lots of luggage, book the driver! Should you come by rental car, find out in advance were you can park. The Hotel does not have parking and it will be a test of your driving skills to back up to the Hotel entrance for unloading!
We most definitely would stay at Hotel Vienna again. |
