Dated but charming

Pros: The rooms are quite large and the views of the ocean spectacular. We were in room 918 and it had a view of the ocean and the city. The sunsets were stunning! The front desk staff could not have been nicer. Very helpful and most spoke English which helped us a lot. The breakfast is very good with lots of fresh fruit and traditional foods as well as Bahian food like tapioca oatmeal and corn porridge. The room for breakfast faces the ocean with big panoramic windows that look over the sea. CONS: There is no gym! This is a huge negative and we were quite upset to find out that during their renovations, they chose not to re do the gym. Last year we were given passes for the gym next door at Ondina Apartment hotel, but this year they wanted to charge us 18 dollars ( CAD) a day! For us fitness is very important when we travel and we need to choose hotels that have a gym. This may deter us from staying here unless they can provide a gym.
