we sent a few days in the Balmes hotel in Barcelona We injoyed our stay very much. The hotel is located about 5 minutes from the Rambles and Paseig Gracia . Contrary to other reviews we found the staff to be extremely helpfull and friendly . The rooms we took were on the sixth floor facing the back , very quite , well lit . spacious . with a view to the swimming pool . our stay was during a heat wave in europe , we greatly enjoyed cooling down in the swimming pool . All in all a nice hotel well worth the money |

My three nights were fine. Small room, yes, and on an airshaft, but that didn't bother me as much as the pool (great extra at this price) pleased me. Very convenient location to Ramblas. And neighborhood Gay bars right around the corner. |

I've just returned from Barcelona and thought this was a very nice hotel. The rooms we have were nice and clean, with one of them facing onto the street and one onto the little garden and swimming pool at the back. Although our contact with the staff was limited, we always found them helpful. Good location, about 5-10 minutes walk to a metro station and a great bar just down Calle De Mallorca |

Excellent hotel, with friendly staff and central to most attractions - please ignore the several negative rebiews on this site - I think the hotel would have good legal grounds for complaint. Andrew, Clare and Jake, Burbage, Leics |
