This is a lovely hotel. The rooms are large and clean with smart marble tiled bathroom. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the river. Its very central, just round the corner from the Ponte Vecchio and a few minutes walk from the main tourist areas and the designer shops. The staff were excellent and very helpful.

We stayed here in May '02 for a week. The hotel is on the Arno about half a block from the Ponte Vecchio. The room was immaculate and very tastefully decorated and a big, tile bath w/shower, toilet and bidet.
The front desk, concierge, bartenders and bellhop were just wonderful with getting us cabs, train tickets (delivered to the hotel), ristorante reservations etc.
The bar was great, light meals, great drinks and great conversation with the bartender. We had two teens with us that had their own room and the bartender was always awesome to them, cooking omelets and making shirley temples. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! They made us feel right at home!

We stayed at this splendid hotel for almost a week in April 2004, and recommend it most highly. Our first room was most comfortable and spacious; but when we had a problem with the plumbing, the desk sent a man at once, and when he could not fix things, they voluntarily moved us to an upgraded room overlooking the Arno. Service was always courteous and helpful. The breakfasts were abundant and good. The location - half a block from the Ponte Vecchio - could not be bettered. This hotel offers real value for money; one could spend two or three times as much in Florence with no serious increase in comfort, and a much less convenient location.

The Berchielli enjoys an excellent location, directly next to the Ponte Vecchio and only minutes from the Uffizi Gallery and Piazza de la Signorina. The hotel is superbly decorated in a refreshingly different art-deco fashion and provides all amenities one could expect in a 4-star hotel. The staff are professional, business-like and competent. Room accomodation was very good and comfortable. One major plus point for Anglo-American visitors: the Berchielli is one of the very few hotels in continental Europe which actually cooks breakfast bacon in a way that corresponds to a traditional English breakfast and tastes. For this alone their kitchen staff deserve some sort of award. The hotel can be recommended unreservedly.

Spent 4 nights at the Hotel Berchielli in early August. What a nice hotel in a great location - on the Arno, midway between the Ponte Vecchio and Santa Trinita. Spacious room, comfortably appointed. Excellent breakfast buffet. The 4th floor rooftop garden was a perfect place to while away the heat of the afternoon, listening to the sounds of Florence. Staff most helpful with reservations, train tickets, etc. After the massive scale of the Duomo, the Uffizi, Pitti Palace & Santa Croce, don't bypass Chiesa di Santi Apostoli just across the Piazza del Limbo. There are less expensive rooms in Florence, but I can't imagine a better value. The next time we visit Florence, we will return to the Berchielli.
