excellent value
I have chosen Best Western Hotel Stieglbrau since I received a nice deal and after all I was pleased with my choice in terms of value I received. Firstly, the hotel is well located in the centre of the Mozart city, only a few minutes walk to the main train station and to the most famous sights and places of Salzburg, as the Mirabellgarden, Mozarts Birth House and the Fortress Hohensalzburg. My room was spotlessly clean and quite spacious considering a standard single room. A plus bonus was an internet connection at the room. The buffet breakfast was ample and tasty, with a wide selection of food. The servers at breakfast and the lady at the reception desk were all pleasant and helpful.
Overall, Best Western Hotel Stieglbrau was an excellent value for hotel in terms of quality and service provided.

We stayed at the Stieglbrau in November 2003 for 3 nights. We had a triple room which was huge. The whole hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly. We ate the first night in the hotel restaurant as it seemed very popular with locals and boy it was great. Luckily the menu was translated into English and there were lots of very rustic Austrian dishes - our waiter even got us to try things we thought we wouldn't like. The staff were great towards our five year old son so much so that we also ate there on the second night. We tried a great pudding that night I don't recall its' name but it was a Salzburg speciality and was basically like a huge vanilla souffle without the sauce. I think for the price we paid this hotel was excellent value just a short stroll from the centre of town, past the Mirabelle gardens which were beautiful even in November.
