Visted Jurys Bristol Hotel in February 2003 for a nice Valentine's break with my girlfriend. Didn't look like much from the side we approached it, but loked a bit better on the otherside. Inside, however, it looked very swish indeed!
We stayed for 3 nights or so, didn't have many problems with the place.
We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant, as being students we couldn't afford it. However, the attached pub was fairly decent, if a bit empty when we turned up. I believe it was run by the hotel. The food in there was typical pub style food, which isn't bad at all. The service we received was excellent, having our bags carried to our rooms and all our needs catered for.The rooms were well kept, and were always cleaned by the maid at about lunchtime. The maid, however, was a bit forgetful when it came to leaving behind tea and biscuits, so try and grab some off them if you want some. If not, the maids carraige is nearly always left in an unlocked storage room...Nice place, good view of the harbour, bit of noise from the harbourside clubs but nothing major.
Close to city centre, but removed from general city noise such as traffic and crowds. Bit overpriced though. |
