nice hotel
My friend and I stayed at Britannia Adelphi hotel on our trip to Liverpool. The hotel was comfortable and cosy. I liked the hotel's swimming pool. The hotel was a bit old but OK. My room was clean and had a very comfortable bed. The location of the hotel was wonderful it was very close to the city centre. I would stay again but make sure that you book a room with a window. |

Average hotel
I stayed at this hotel together with my 3 other friends in 2007 when we went to see a football match in Liverpool. Well, this was not the best hotel i've stayed so far but compared to the price it was OK. The rooms we stayed in were not stylishly decorated but they were cosy and quite comfortable. As we stayed there only one night i was not able to take advantage of many of the facilities the hotel had to offer but the heated marble swimming pool was really nice.
This hotel is ideal if you need a nice, clean place to stay with average facilities. |

Old English style hotel
This is an old and long established hotel, and this is reflected in the interior design which takes the guest back to an era of past grandeur. The staff were attentive and my room was maintained to a high standard. |

loved the hotel
This hotel is very faded glamour, and the room was huge, with a big bed - a fantastic view of Liverpool and a wonderful whirlpool bath.
However - this is an old English hotel - its not some homogenised European business executive hotel. I loved the hotel - it really is beautiful |

Convenient Location
No complaints otherwise, except that our room did not have a shower at all (!), only a giant bathtub. Might work for some, but not for us. Though, the location was great, only a few minutes walk from the city centre. Subway, bus and train stations within walking distance as well. |

The Britannia Adelphi is definitely a hotel to experience. Located in the heart of downtown Liverpool the grande old dame did not disappoint. In its' prime this was the place of the rich and famous. Though worn and tired in some places it still holds an unmistakable charm. And if the walls could talk! The service is very warm and friendly, the rooms clean, the breakfast buffet pretty good, the B&B rates also very good. There have been a few documentaries that painted a negative picture of the hotel but I took a chance and am so glad I did. I will definitely stay there again. |

Enjoyed a good stay at the Adelphi Hotel. The location is perfect, the room was good and the staff helpful to solve the minor problems I had.
One thing that could be improved is the room key system, a card system would make it a lot more efficient. |

On arrival at the hotel we were utterly gobsmacked by the beautiful decor. My partner and i had paid pittance to stay there so we expected it to be quite shabby. A beautiful hotel with lots of potential, and history, you can imagine what it would have been like 100 years ago. We took time to explore the hotel and found it to be gorgeous. If you are expecting it to be IKEA decorated, its not, its how it should be old and traditional, however very classy. The halls to the bedrooms are eerry, like u would imagine cluedo to be!
The actual room was lovely lovely large bath, again the decor is old but not mouldy old. Its really Classy.
I agree with the lifts, they were quite unreliable, the other negative would have to be the sloppy waitresses. They were young girls with little or no training, who found it funny to take the rip out of old people. Were very unprofessional for this place. The food was quite poor too, a lot of choice, but tasted poor and wasnt very warm.
Apart from that the rest of the hotel was a pleasure to stay in and would visit again. We were on the third floor. |

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Adelphi last January, our stay was a gift from his parents for his 21st birthday. Our first impression of the hotel as we walked in was "Old Fashioned" however our bedroom was lovely, very traditionally furnished and decorated. We ordered room service every day for breakfast and found the staff to be efficient.
Because of the age of the building we did find things like opening the old windows to be a problem however I have recently recommended the hotel to my cousin and I would say to anybody who likes a different and more traditional stay to give it a go! |
