Stayed for two nights -party of 7 - rooms clean but a bit jaded. Divan trim did not fit bed. NO WINDOW - I have never stayed in a hotel without a window and would not stay again - this was like living in a shoe box. Breakfast pretty poor -fruit salad out of a tin and toast was just warm bread. for a charge of £7 a head not good value. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The good bits far outweigh the flaws
Let's get the bad bits over with first. My room seemed to be directly above the nightclub and there was a lot of noise coming from it after 11pm, but after a while I got used to it. The kettle wasn't working but a very helpful porter called Manuel changed it for me and stayed while I tested it. Final "problem" - rather a long queue for check in but it was dealt with as efficiently as possible - and surely a short queue at that time of day (3pm) would have meant that the hotel didn't get many customers, a long queue is a sign of a popular hotel! A lovely warm room, even though it was a "city" room with no windows there was plenty of lighting - I did feel a little guilty about using them, but had to see what I was doing so I needed to use the lights! Loads of room to spread my belongings out and a good writing area. A very good shower and a nice choice at breakfast. I'd stay again.

Ideal for a weekend break
I've recently spent a wonderful weekend break at Britannia Hotel Manchester. It is ideally located at the city center and easily accesable via public transport, close to the coach station. My room was a nice fully equipped room with private bathroom, hairdryer, TV and a kettle. The food i was offeredw was tasty and the hotel bar is the ideal base for relaxation.
I recommend this hotel to those who want to have a comfortable stay in a friendly atmospere in Manchester.

I have just had a brilliant weekend in the above hotel. The rooms were really big and kept immaculate by a lovely lady called Bridget who was both very informative and friendly. The breakfasts were excellent and the location was perfect also. It has a very plush entrance and staircase and I would definitely go back there again.

This hotel is the worst value for money hotel that i have ever stayed in. The bedding is very old and I think they may have inherited it from an o.ap. home. Also dirty rooms and didn't have towels changed in 3 days. TV's from the 70's and broken.

We were a group of 7 football supporters that traveled to Manchester. We got a god welcoming besides some issues in regards of room keys not working and smell of paint due to the ongoing upgrade of the hotel. But overall we were pleased with the "Victorian" atmosphere and the location of the hotel. And the service was above normal compared to my earlier stays in UK. Recommended.

THis hotel is very conveniently located close to Picadilly railway station and Picadilly Gardens metrolink. With a quick connection to SAlford Quays and Old Trafford. The hot buffet style english breakfast was more than adequate to start the day off in the correct way. The staff were all very courteous. During my stay there was some refubishment work going on but the disruption was definitely kept to a minimum.

It was a decent hotel-nothing out of the ordinary. The main thing it has going for it is that it is in a very central location and the hotel staff were lovely.
