central location
Last year I stayed at Britannia hotel Manchester when I went to meet my best friend who lived there. The hotel was centrally located, it was very close to the city centre. Rooms amenities were good with private barthrooms. My room was comfortable and nice. Staff was helpful. I liked the warm atmosphere of the hotel. I would stay there again

Ideal for a weekend break
I've recently spent a wonderful weekend break at Britannia Hotel Manchester. It is ideally located at the city center and easily accesable via public transport, close to the coach station. My room was a nice fully equipped room with private bathroom, hairdryer, TV and a kettle. The food i was offeredw was tasty and the hotel bar is the ideal base for relaxation. I recommend this hotel to those who want to have a comfortable stay in a friendly atmospere in Manchester.

Excellent hotel
I have just had a brilliant weekend in the above hotel. The rooms were really big and kept immaculate by a lovely lady called Bridget who was both very informative and friendly. The breakfasts were excellent and the location was perfect also. It has a very plush entrance and staircase and I would definitely go back there again.

Recommended
We were a group of 7 football supporters that traveled to Manchester. We got a god welcoming besides some issues in regards of room keys not working and smell of paint due to the ongoing upgrade of the hotel. But overall we were pleased with the "Victorian" atmosphere and the location of the hotel. And the service was above normal compared to my earlier stays in UK. Recommended.

Conveniently located
THis hotel is very conveniently located close to Picadilly railway station and Picadilly Gardens metrolink. With a quick connection to SAlford Quays and Old Trafford. The hot buffet style english breakfast was more than adequate to start the day off in the correct way. The staff were all very courteous. During my stay there was some refubishment work going on but the disruption was definitely kept to a minimum.

Decent hotel
It was a decent hotel-nothing out of the ordinary. The main thing it has going for it is that it is in a very central location and the hotel staff were lovely.

Reliable and Comfortable
I and 3 others stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and have to say we really enjoyed it. Despite slight renovations going on in the hotel the rooms were comfortable, clean and staff nice and reliable!! We are hoping to return to Manchester in the future and hope to deal with this hotel...

Come on everybody, whats your problem with this Hotel? We have stayed here seven times and cannot find any fault with the accommodation, it was fine. We stay here on a Saturday night to visit the gay clubs and watch the drag queens, and we only pay ?45.00 for the room, at Britannia Hotels. ok kicks bar underneath the hotel is a dump, but you don't have to go in there. You must be careful outside the hotel, it's full of prostitutes (male and female) so watch your purses and wallets. Yes maybe there are better hotels in the city of Manchester, but the Brittania suits us just fine. Give it a try!

I stayed in the Britannia in May 2003 and have to agree that the fifth floor room was hideous - stained walls, antique decoration, broken TV, curtains that did not cover the whole window, and no sound insulation so we had to put up with the very loud noise from the local nightspots until closing time. However, I got a cheap deal on a four-poster room this month and was very pleasantly surprised. The room was huge and very clean. Everything that I could complain about the pokey room I had before was no longer in existence. I could not want for a nicer room. However, the staff do need a little customer service training, and the Italian restaurant could do a lot better. But on my experience this week, I would certainly come again, although I wouldn't risk a cheap room!
