Nice view of the nearby bay and good value for money for visitors to the Icelandic capital...
Good, clean, comfortable hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was compact, would be a tight fit for so...

Reflections on Cabin Hotel
We stayed in Cabin hotel and generally it was acceptable for the price. There were a couple of issues. The first was that I booked a standard double room and when we arrived it was a twin room and we were advised that all standard rooms were twins. This may be more the websites rather than the hotel but worth noting as the price of deluxe rooms was quite a bit more, deluxe being a double! The rooms are very small, limited amount of room for luggage, we had to stack our luggage at the end of the bed. The room was generally clean. The walls are so thin we could hear someone snoring in another room! and if you are unlucky, you will get a school party on the same floor as you, and the noise is really bad! Breakfast was generally ok, although there are no coffee or tea making facilities in the room. For smokers, if you are at one end of the corridor you can go out on the balcony. The rooms were warm and the beds were quite comfortable. I would stay here again, but only if I was not spending too much time in the hotel!!

Sold our pre-paid room
We pre-paid our 2-night stay and phoned the hotel on the date of arrival to let them know that we were arriving late since the flight landed 23:20, which they mentioned that it would be fine.
To our surprise, when we arrived at the hotel at around 1:30am they said that our room had been taken. Thee managed to place us on another hotel around 20 minutes drive from Reykjavik (just what you want at 2:00 in the morning and tired), which took them 30 minuted to get us in a taxi to be re-located (just what you want at that time of the night).
So, they've let us down badly and we were really tired the next day as it was 4:00 in the morning before we got to bed.
They didn't have the right to sell our room to another person as we paid in advance, so for this reason I'd never stay there again.

Comfortable, Clean and Compact
Good, clean, comfortable hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was compact, would be a tight fit for someone tall or large but the room was warm and clean. The breakfast was good and the salad buffet in the evening (additional cost) was also good. I would return to this hotel.

comfortable stay
My boyfriend and I stayed there for a couple of nights. It was a nice hotel. The hotel was close to the city center. Rooms were very small but it didn't matter for us because we were out the whole day. I liked the buffet breakfast. I recommend it for short stays.

Good price, cosy rooms
I stayed at the Cabin Hotel between 18-20 February this year. The hotel offers comfortable and economic accomodation. The rooms are bright and comfortable with private bathroom with shower. It is quite close to Reykjavík’s city centre where you can find nightclubs, shops and restaurants. It is usitable for budget traveller who want comfortable accomodation with reasonable prices.

Nice place for budget travelers
Cabin hotel definitely give a modern facility at a very reasonable price possible. Moreover, the buffet breakfast was great and 24 hour reception desk of a two star hotel was very professional.
Nice place for the budget travelers with adequate requirements.

I would recommend
Despite the fact the the hotel is pretty far away from dowtown, the staff is very helpful and friendly, besides it is clean, small, suprisingly comfortable place to stay while you wander the city. I would recommend.

Delighted with our stay
A good buffet breakfast is provided from which you can make your lunch for the day, which is handy for saving money if you're going out on a day's excursion to the landscape & scenery. You get what you pay for with this hotel; compact room, warmth, ensuite (with natural geothermal hot water - great!). Delighted with our stay.

Overall enjoyed our stay
The Rooms were very very small. Two narrow single beds and a small table took up the width of the room. The Staff were very courteous and the premises were clean. The Hotel is situated to the North of the City about a 15 minute walk from the Centre. But overall, we enjoyed staying in Cabin hotel.

...
Location was very good and easy to find in the car. Room small but ok, although bedding was stained (although washed). The towels were not changed in four days. Buffet dinner was very very good and a brilliant price for an expensive city but the staff were very sullen and ignorant - I was scared to ask a question!
