No recommended hotel
For a long weekend we have been looking for a Hotel in Vienna, which was not too far away from downtown and a public transport access as possible, since we have been there without a car.
The hotel proved to the position to be optimal. Ca. 500 m from the Prater and the S-and U-Bahn station Praterstern, a subway stop in front of the house and shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. This sounds positive but already almost to. The reception was friendly at night by 1 clock. The tiny lobby is visually in good condition. The hotel has 7 floors and there is only a single lift. Already this was to prove in the following days as a problem, since one had to endlessly wait for that elevator as the hotel was fully booked very well and that many people ever took the elevator.
We had booked a double room with balcony smoking. Will we have twin rooms without a balcony to the busy street, Prater. Stand it was in the room only when the windows were closed. If you have windows open - even at night - an incredible noise level due to the strong traffic. Also located in a nearby church contributes through their bells to this.
The room had a short corridor from which lacked a tiny store room (dressing room mirror with case and stand) and on the other hand, the also tiny bath tub. The edge was so high that for smaller people and the older one and get in the tub for a shower is a real problem. Great people (180 cm) have the problem that the ceiling is too low to be able to maintain a shower.
Straight ahead was then a room with two single beds, two night tables and a wardrobe, a desk, a round table, three chairs, a sideboard, on which was the television. Of the two window sashes can be opened only the smaller ones. The room to the street, is south, so that in summer the sun is burning on the window. There is an exterior shutter that can be moved, but only if you open the window and does the dirty belt. For the blackout at night has the tight floor-length window curtains.
The carpet in the room was underground dirty. It has really disgusted at the thought of what may be the spots for everything that you saw. Even the athlete's foot could be seen lurking in the truest sense of the word. The furniture itself was still fairly new, but cheap.
In the five days we were there was not vacuumed once. Once, even the garbage was not emptied. Otherwise it was ok.
Breakfast was adequate. The coffee, however, is on hot plates kept ready so that it was just lukewarm in part. Breakfast is served from 07.00 bis 10.00 Clock Clock, who is coming but not until half past ten, must eat what is there. The breakfast rooms (total 4) were the onslaught of guests sometimes hardly cope, and it was very loud in the rooms. The staff has not even bothered about the score but merely recreate the coffee and fill the food consumed, but no more after half-past ten. That was on the table a piggy bank in which a tip? has objected to the staff. Something I've never experienced before.
There is wireless Internet in every room. For bookings of 5 days we have paid € 4 per day. The Vienna Card (discounts) are available at the hotel. At the reception they receive 24-hour coffee, tea, alcohol and non-alcohol, and ice cubes. Umbrellas are for lending it as well. On departure you can leave your luggage in an extra space if one departs later.
All in all, it was still just ok. But it is not comfortable, the windows can be opened only if you are deaf or can not sleep with earplugs. The only underground station in front of the house and the price is a reason to go into this hotel.
