Worth visiting
We stayed at this hotel for two nights during the weekend, coming just to enjoy the sightseeings. In general the hotel is very suitable, clean and cosy, but there were some points, really marring the picture. Firstly, the building site surrounding the hotel, and secondly the size of rooms. As it was in the hotel description, the rooms were supposed to be minimum of double size as the "standard", but... Pretty average, nothing special.
Still the breakfast served in the hotel deserves the highest praise, so does the friendliness of the staff at the front desk.
Most of the places of interest are at walkable distance, but the closest shops will shock you with prices. Very expensive area of Oslo.
Except the minor points our stay at the hotel was very pleasurable. In the evenings the lounge area is used for corporate events and the live music sounds till midnight. |

Adequate accommodation close to the train station
Our stay in Oslo was brief. We chose Clarion Hotel Royal Christiania for its proximity to the train station which is just across the street, moreover great shopping is closer than around the corner. While the location was great, the hotel left a bit to be desired. Our room was clean, unusually spacious, but rather a mid-grade room. The staff was extremely helpful and breakfast was far above the average, with a great selection and quality hot and cold items. Overall, Clarion Hotel Royal Christiania was a nice choice due to its location, moreover, the accommodation was adequate in quality for our needs, the service was excellent and breakfast was above the average. |

Conveniently located
I have stayed at Clarion Royal Christiania for 4 nights. The hotel looked unpromising from the front, with a small entrance between some shops. But, once into the lobby, the hotel opens up and the facade conceals a bright open interior with a spacious reception area and atrium. There is a small bar off the reception area.
My room was clean and bright and had a good view over Oslo City Centre. The hotel is across the road from Oslo Sentralstasjon and therefore very convenient for transport. Free internet was a bonus. The breakfast was excellent, with a huge range and choice. As for the negative sides, the swimming pool was a bit disappointing due to its not adequate size, and the place itself looked a bit rundown, definitely needed a refresh. Nevertheless, Clarion Royal Christiania was very conveniently located and comfortable place to stay. |

Great place to stay
My wife and I stayed here for two nights. We were greeted by a very friendly and extremely helpful staff, willing to go out of their way to make sure we were taken care of.
The room was large and comfortable and comparable to American standards. The bathroom was large. The hotel provides free internet access at two terminals in the lobby right of the elevators saving us the time and expense of the internet cafe.
Our breakfast was above average. The best part about the hotel is the location. Great shopping is closer than around the corner and the train station is across the street. Overall, Carion Hotel Royal Christiania was a great place to stay. |
