Venice is a ancient, magical city. The maze of quaint shops and restaurants captures a traveler's imagination! The only problem that we encountered in Venice was the inability to resist going "around the next corner" to find something else new and wonderful! Luckily it is impossible to get really lost in the little corner of Italy. Hotel Columbina was magnificient with an amazing staff. Early mornings were the best time to mingle with the friendly locals and piazza pigeons! Would love to spend MUCH more time in the future.

We stayed for 4 nights. We booked through Hotel Connect ?414. We arrived late and the staff were superb. The room overlooked the canal and we could see the Bridge of Sighs. The breakfast was good and was served in the small dining room. The fittings in the room were wonderful. The bathroom was all marble and Murano glass. The bed was comfortable and the room was well sound proofed. We were less than 50 yards from St Marks but the bells did not bother us. Overall we thought this was a great place to stay especially since the restaurants around this area were not expensive and were good value for money. Quiet location and good service.

Our room had a wall of French doors with a breathtaking view of the water. The room was beautiful with a Venician chandelier over the bed. The bathroom was five star with nice ammenities. The staff was very professional and recommended a wonderful little Italian restaurant for dinner. They suggested we go to the glass blowing factory. It was very interesting, but beware it is very expensive. Upon leaving you have a choice to take the public water taxi which is 3.50 euros or a private water taxi which picks you up at the hotel dock and takes you straight to the train station with no stops. However, it is 60.00 euros, but well worth it on your last day.

We stayed here on our honeymoon in September 2003. We absolutely loved it! The rooms were so beautiful, although small. Our room was right on the canal which could be noisy if you didn't close the window coverings.I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

July 19, 2004. Stayed here for two nights and loved the hotel. We thought the location was great because it was central enough not be on top of all the masses of tourists. Our room was a good size with a lovely bathroom with shower and bath. The staff were fabulous and exeptionaly helpful. Lovley breakfast room with fresh fruit and very nice breakfast. They aranged a water taxi (no charge) for us to visit a Murano glass factory - did not do the tour of the factory and felt a little under pressure to do so by the factory. We are pretty fussy and would stay here again.

We stayed at this Hotel in August 2003. When we arrived they upgraded us to the large upstairs suite. Our room had 3 floors!! with a private balcony overlooking Venice. This place is perfect for couples, very romantic. The staff was excellent, one steward even personally escorted us to a near by resturaunt only frequented by locals. We will definalty stay there again!

I started my trip to Venice at the Colombina and ended it at Dei Dogi (a significantly more expensive luxury hotel) and my preference was for Colombina. The staff is incredibly sweet and helpful, and while the rooms aren't enormous, the location is great, the hotel is quiet, and the rooms are charming and well kept. Also, you can't beat the breakfast. Really, I strongly recommend it. It's a terrific--if not amazing--value.

I have stayed at the Colombina every year since it opened, often for 10 days to 2 weeks at a time. I LOVE this hotel! The staff is wonderful, the rooms comfortable and beautifully decorated with good sized bathrooms. Room size varies throughout the hotel as is common in Europe when hotels are rebuilt from existing palaces or ancient structures. I have had large rooms and small rooms but all have been extremely comfortable and well maintained. The buffet breakfast has good selections and is restocked frequently. The tiny bar has a courteous bartender who can mix anything you want. Location is wonderful and the price is excellent for the quality the hotel provides. I would recommend it HIGHLY to any visitor to Venice!
