Great location, very comfortable
We stayed at this hotel as a group of 6 people. We had read all the reviews about the hotel on the Internet before we booked our stay and knew quite alot about the hotel and the area. Well, it was so nice to find the hotel exactly as it was said in the reviews: great location, comfortable rooms, good service and friendly atmosphere... We stayed in 3 rooms and the rooms were so nice with ample living space and clean bathrooms. It was all we needed as our plan was to spend most of our time outside exploring the city. Luckily we get more than what we asked for! Full breakfast was fresh and tasty and the free waffle service in the afternoon was nice! Well, the hotel was also the ideal base to start exploring the city. The bus stop was just outside the door for our use, well, we didn't have to use the bus at all as the city center was only 2 minutes walking!
We had great time at this hotel with affordable prices. So nice! |

Well connected to public traffic system
Very small, but efficient staff, plain clean wodden floored rooms offer all you usually need and have been recently redecorated.
Modern bathroom, but no dedicated shower basin. Liked the soft mattresses and the free mineral water in the room every day. Yes there is also a free afternoon service of pancakes ….
Breakfast room is small and sometimes crowded, offers CNN news and organic (still tasteful) food in hot buffet quality. Comfort Hotel insider get free local newspaper.
Dpn’t be irritated about the location, it is better than you think. Close to the river and the Älvsnabben boat station, 100 m from a key stop for express buses bringing you into downtown (Centralen) by just 2 stops or Svenska Mässan/Liseberg Park (5 stops). 3 min to Järntorg’s tram station. 12 min walk thru pedestrian zone (Kungsgatan, shopping & dining street) to the railway station and Nordstans Shopping Center.
If you have some spare time, buy I day ticket for public transport at Järntorget, go by tran to Saltholmen and enjoy some boat rides there to the islands around Gothenburg, which are included in the ticket.

Far above the average
I have recently stayed 2 nights at a very nice Comfort Hotel City Center hotel in Gothenburg. I have been welcomed very warmly and preceded to my room after a quick friendly check-in. My room was comfortable and spacious and typically Scandinavian with wooden flooring etc. The hotel does not have a bar but complimentary tea, coffee and cold drinks are provided all day. Location was excellent, not on a main thoroughfare but only a short walk to main areas and a bus stop right out side, the main tram junction only 3 mins walk away, from here you can access the whole city in a matter of minutes. I would definitely be returning to Gothenburg in the future and with no hesitation I would stay at Comfort Hotel City Center. |
