Good value hotel
We have stayed at Corrib Great Southern Hotel over the weekend. For the price we paid we did not expect a lot, however we were slightly impressed. Eventhough the hotel is located a bit far from the city center, but there are buses and taxi available.
The hotel itself overall was clean and adequate. It was a bit crowded due to some kind of events at the hotel, but still we were not bothered by neither noise or crowd. Our room was great with a sea view and lots of TV channels. Besides bathroom was grant and everything worked efficiently. No complain about room whatsoever.
The reception staff and other hotel staff were very approachable and helpful at all the times.
Overall, we found Corrib Great Southern Hotel as a good value for the price we paid. However if you are concerned about the location, then that would not be the best choice, however in terms of cleanliness, friendliness and efficiency of staff and service for a good value, Corrib Great Southern Hotel is a nice place to stay. |

I'd put it on the top of my list
I just recently returned from a trip to Galway. Prior to going I read some of the reviews about the Corrib Great Southern Hotel and almost cancelled my reservations because the reviews were so bad. I have travelled extensively and have had both good and bad experiences with accomodations. I found the Corrib to be on the top of my list for cleanliness, excellent sevice, extremely friendly and helpful staff, and a fantastic view from my room to "watch the sun go down" on Galway Bay. I agree the location is away from the centre of the city, but I walked to and from the city centre each of the five days I was there and the walk took 35 minutes each way. However there are buses running frequently and it takes only 10 min to get to the city center. Overall, if not the location, then great hotel itself in terms of cleanliness, excellent sevice, extremely friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely come bach to Corrib Great Southern Hotel. |

Stayed here in dec03 with 2 young children. Found hotel very clean and the staff couldnt do enough for us. Restaurant was spotless and food was excellant breakfast was cooked to order... Will certainly be going back! |
