An excellent Swiss value hotel in a perfect location
My husband and I spent seven nights and eight days in Lucerne, Switzerland, and stayed at the Hotel de la Paix. We found it to be very much as advertised and expected - a clean, comfortable, unassuming hotel with good value for the price.
The room was clean, spacious with plenty of light, well furnished. There also was a lovely balcony with a nice view of Lucerne. Bathroom was newly refurnished and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite nice, but perhaps a bit limited, but the restaurant was very nicely renovated!
The location is excellent - just around the corner from the shopping area, a minute beyond that to the lake and with a few bars and restaurants nearby. Also, it's at the bottom of the hill from the Museggmauer, which are the old walls of the city - they can be climbed and they fantastic views of the old town and beyond.
In our opinion, Hotel de la Paix was an excellent Swiss value hotel with a perfect location. Strongly recommended.
