Horrible!!!!
L'arredamento era squallido, disordinato, rovinato, vecchio, brutto e male assortito.
Inutile aggiungere altro.

Disappointing!
On the occasion of my summer holidays in Scotland, in the nights of 21 and 22 August, I have bought an accommodation at Duisdale Country House Hotel, in the Isle of Skye.
I am sorry to draw your attention on the quality of this stay, quality that does not coincide with the boasted standard (4 stars), with the price (€ 288 x 2 night x 1 person) and with the information and photos that you can see on the website of the hotel.
The room, the breakfast and the restaurant failed to meet my expectations, conditioning negatively the stay.
I want you to notice that in my particular case, the most negatively experience has been caused by the state of the room. When I came in I have been “welcomed” with a strong unpleasant smell, or better, a genuine stench like that of “several dirty old socks”. The windows were closed and the air was truly unbreathable.
I have complained about this, kindly asking to the receptionist to give me another room. She said that the hotel did know about the problem of the smell (!!!) and tried to justify it saying that recently they changed the moquette and that it was not possible to have another room. So I asked to give me some deodorant to scent the room. The outcome of this request was, when I came back in my room to sleep at night, the intervention of the receptionist that, without notice, sprayed deodorant on moquette. So I slept breathing the strong smell of “dirty socks” and the acrid and pungent scent of deodorant.
The same moquette was on the floor of the restaurant but there was not that impossible smell so I ask myself: if the proprietors knew about the problem of the smell, why did they decided to use the room and give it at the price of the other ones???
Besides being so smelly the room was not comfortable because it was badly furnished. I invite you all to compare the standard of the pieces of furniture photographed in my room with those that you see on the website of the hotel. I my room I have found pieces linked together with a fortuitous method: small tables were nothing else than bedside tables covered with a wooden circle and a white tablecloth under another circle made of glass. So I had to pay great attention because every little movement increased the risk of a fall on the floor!! In the bathroom only a very small shelf to lean one’s owns. On those days in Scotland there was a low temperature and, as I had to keep the windows open all day, I should have wished to have a working hot water heating system, at least in the bathroom at morning. The hot water heating system “maybe doesn’t work” (this was the answer of the receptionist, she didn’t know!!!) so somebody gave me an old electrical radiant heating (look at my photos!!) but in the bathroom there were not sockets, those of the room were far so… I had to take shower suffering from the cold!
The breakfast: very basic, scanty portions, slow and inaccurate service.
Mine is not a preclusion against simple hotels, that sometimes I decided to use paying the right price and knowing previously their standards. On those occasions I did not expected nothing more.
Mine wants to be the expression of delusion for an accommodation not up to my expectations.
If you want a four star hotel be careful: this is not a four star. Just one thing is four star at Duisdale: the price! Disappointing…
