Be Careful if traveling with children
We have stayed for 6 nights at Duminy last July and we had tremendous problem with acceptance of children under 7. They did not inform that double rooms are NOT available for couples with a child, even if 7 years old, like our daughter. So we had to pay extra room rate that cost us more than E$ 500. And we had reserved two rooms. So be advised to ask for a triple room if you have children. Staff was confuse and did not help at all. Triple and double are about the same size, go figure!!

I stayed here in February 2004. The major problem was that I hardly slept during my 5 days' stay in a room on the ground floor just opposite/round the corner from Reception. The sound of water in the room (presumably just on the other side of the walls although it sounded like it was actually in the room) was unbearably-loud despite purchasing ear-plugs to wear in bed in an attempt to drown out the sound. Any time anyone flushed a toilet, had a bath or a shower, it seemed to occur. Judging by the frequency of these occurrences, it seemed that it was the pipes from the entire hotel which ran round the walls of the room as it was virtually constant. I would hesitate to book a 3* hotel again after this experience.

Friends and I stayed 5 nights at the Duminy Vendome in April. We were all very satisfied. We had a very spacious triple room that was cheerful and sunny. Bathroom was modern and the room was kept very clean (beds a little soft but comfortable). The front desk staff was curtious and helpful. It was amazing how many languages some of them spoke.
From its location you can walk to most major sites and the metro is very closeby. Additionally, it is located on a quiet street, so it was nice to relax/ sleep with the windows open.
Breakfast is served every morning in the basement. The staff there sometimes had a hard time keeping things replenished, but, overall it was a decent breakfast to get the day started. We would definitely stay there again.

The staff at Duminy-Vendome were excellent. We were new to Paris with little command of the French language and they were very helpful in providing info about where to go, how to get there and made reservations for us as needed.
The room was very clean and met all of our expectations. We loved the little courtyard outside of our window.
The location is great. It is close to a metro and many attractions.
I would stay there again.

Last month my 16-year old daughter and I stayed at the Duminy Vendome for 2 nights. It was our first trip to Paris, and I wanted to stay in a truly French hotel. As a frequent business traveler used to luxury in the large chains, I didn't know quite what to expect, but I found everything delightful. The staff was courteous and helpful even though I stumbled along with High School French. The rooms were clean, quiet and the breakfast delicious. I especially loved the pan au chocolat.
We were close to most of the national monuments and some lovely cafes, which made things easy. I had been concerned about anti-American sentiments, but at no time did I encounter that. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and charming; I would stay at this hotel again without hesitation.

We stayed at the Duminy Vendome from 5/2/04-5/9/04. The location is perfect if this is your first trip and you want to see the major monuments. Many are within walking distance. Jardin de Tuileries is very close and a beautiful place for a morning walk or picnic. Many restaurants and stores nearby -- just walk and explore. The Paris Vision tour office is less than a 5 minute walk away. Our room was #504, which faces the street. Small but charming (2 little twin beds that we pushed together), very clean, nice bath, two french doors that opened onto a tiny terrace. We slept with the french doors partially open at night. It could definitely get noisy at times, especially early morning when the streets are cleaned, but we liked hearing the sounds of the city. Hotel staff couldn't be nicer. Breakfast buffet is great -- cereal, fruit, yogurt, breads, croissant, meats & cheeses, juices, coffee, etc.
Next door is a great Irish pub & restaurant named "Carr's" that is run by lovely people, has a warm atmosphere, and serves delicious French food.
One final comment -- people have asked us about anti-American sentiment in France. The French people that we encountered were friendly and gracious, and frequently quite charming! We felt warmly welcomed.

Value for money in 3* bracket. Fabulous location, Tuilieres Gdns 2mins and great to sit in and watch the world go by. Rooms clean, had single room which was ok in size and view over rooftops which was pleasant. Good hot water system and heating, huge breakfast which fills one up for the day! Staff extremely helpful and english spoken well. Sml bar is cosy and good for chat with fellow guests. Will stay here again for location, just few mins from one of the best shopping strips in Paris if you have the money, Rue Fauborg St Honore.

I stayed at the Duminy Vendome March 3-9, 2004 and would recommend it to anyone. It is a wonderful, clean, little hotel in a great location (especially if you're a first time visitor, as we were).
The hotel is on a small side street in an area that is near lots of shopping and many first-rate hotels. From the Duminy Vendome, its an easy walk to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Opera and the Tuileries Gardens. The metro line #1 is just around the corner and gives you access to the rest of Paris.
The rooms are not very big, but they are clean and in good condition.
Our room overlooked a small courtyard in the center of the hotel and was pretty quiet. It had a full shower/tub, hairdryer, desk, television and a small closet. There was no alarm clock, so you might want to bring one.
The breakfast buffet was included as part of our package and it provided a quick and easy way to eat, then get out and see Paris. It included eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, pastrys, yogurt, cereal, juice and coffee. Breakfast is served downstairs in a casual, comfortable room that used to be a wine cellar.
All of the staff members that we met were very friendly. Everyone at the front desk spoke English well and they were more than happy to assist in any way possible. (find a restaurant, call and make reservations, set you up on a tour, give you directions, etc.)
If you're looking for a small hotel that's clean, budget-oriented and in a central location, I'd recommend the Duminy Vendome.

Enjoyed my stay in May, 2003. Staff was very helpful, multi-lingual and cheerful. Wonderful buffet breakfast each AM. Rooms a little small, very clean and with a nice bathroom. Great location.

The hotel was absolutely charming, exactly what one thinks of as a small Parisian hotel. THe courtyard is a thing of beauty, the staff warm, friendly and very helpful. The location is ideal; very close to the Louvre and the Tuilleries gardens. All in all a delightful place to stay. If I had the opportunity to visit Paris again, I would definitely stay at this hotel.
