Friendly staff and centrally located. Rooms are large
and comfortable. Rooms facing the street behind the hotel are rather noisy with streetcars and other traffic operating during the night, Windows are double glazed but that really does not eliminate the noise. I have stayed here four times and plan to go back again this year.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights Thursday - Saturday. The staff was friendly and professional, and the rooms were very large. I especially liked how the walk-in closet and large bathroom were seperated from the bedroom. There can be some street noise below, but not too much. The windows have outdoor blinds, black-out shades, and heavy curtains. If you like a dark room, this will accommodate. The hotel is situated on the edge of the pedestrian zone with a self-service pay parking lot directly across from the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

The Hotel Excelsior was an excellent choice for our stay in May, 2003.
It is less than a block from the main train station, on the pedestrian mall, so is very convenient to everything central. The staff were freindly and efficient, and most spoke English quite well. The room was large by European standards and the bathroom huge and newly redone. We booked through one of the discount web sites so we paid substantially less than the advertised price. We highly recommend the Hotel Excelsior.
