Aug 1, 2011 Arguably one of the most beautiful places to stay in New York and a luxurious 4-star hotel as well, the Excelsior Hotel is a veritable landmark in New York’s Upper West Side. Located amidst picturesque brownstones and other historic buildings, this hotel harks back to an old world charm that belies the hustle and bustle of the city it is located in.

Guests at the Excelsior get the added advantage of being within easy walking distance of a number of cultural and recreational venues such as the Hayden Planetarium, the Beacon theatre and Lincoln center.

The first thing guests are greeted with is the sight of Hotel Excelsior’s magnificent wood paneled lobby. Appointed with oil paintings, chandeliers, fresh flowers and sitting areas fashioned with gilt trimmed French style sofas and armchairs, by the time the gracious ambience of the lobby sinks in, guests have to be persuaded to see their rooms.

LOCATION

Excelsior Hotel is located between Central Park and Columbus Avenue. New York’s famous West Side’s attractions are all within easy reach and guests can enjoy exploring the nearby American Museum of Natural History and the Rose Center for Earth and Space.
