Convenient hotel
We spent three gorgeous days at Stockholm and stayed at First Amaranten. The hotel is located at Kungsholmen area, close to Town Hall (a major attraction of the city) and about 5 minutes walking from T-Centralen and Main Railway Station. Rooms are nice and well appointed, although not really large. But we felt confortable at the hotel. There is a supermarket, a take away pizza opposite the hotel. There is also a sushi bar and a couple of restaurants nearby. There are a couple of bus stops in a 250 mts. area.
It is not cheap, but there are not nice cheap hotels at Stockholm, so First Amarante is a good option, in my opinion. I can't remember breakfast buffet, although it was included with the room fee. |

I stayed with my husband and baby for three nights from 29-2 May 2004. The location of the hotel was excellent, a pleasant walk to the centre of town and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.The staff were friendly and helpful and the quality and selection of the food at breakfast was fantastic !
No matter how busy breakfast was, the staff were attentive, the tables were cleaned quickly, ready for the next hungry diners.
UK hotels should take note !!
Lovely spacious reception and bar area.
Bedrooms very clean although a little small for 3.
We lost our camera in a local taxi and thanks to the reception staff we received in by post in Glasgow !
Very Efficient! I would definitely recommed to anyone visiting Stockholm. |

I stayed here for 2 nights with my 2 adult children and, should we return to Stockholm, we wouldn't bother looking for any other hotel. It was marvellously spacious, bright, full of life and with a free internet connection in the corner of the vast reception area. The receptionists were excellent and very welcoming. The room could have been a bit more spacious and the bathroom was a bit poky but everything was perfectly clean and comfortable. |

The First Hotel Amaranten is in Kungsholmen (western Stockholm) within 4 minutes walk of the main train station. Fantastic free breakfast (meats, great bread, cheeses, and all the "normal" breakfast stuff...). Some very cheap rates available on First Hotel company website if gotten months ahead of time. Rooms tend towards the small, but overall it is a nice gracious hotel that is quite affordable and perfect if you are somewhere in between "GRAND HOTEL" and "YOUTH HOSTEL". |
