A truly delightful, family run, Fontana Hotel just a stone's throw from St. Mark's Square, the Fontana Hotel has been in the same family for nearly 40 years.
Located in the midst of one of Venice's many small, yet thriving, squares, the Fontana Hotel offers a informal hospitality in a pleasant and friendly manner. This is a traditional hotel without a hint of contemporary furnishings - in fact quite the opposite; the atmosphere and ambience of the public areas is warm and inviting with antique furnishings, marble floors and traditional Venetian paintings.
LOCATION
Fontana Hotel is located located in the centre of the beautiful Venice, and all the touristic attactions are only few steps from the hotel. From the hotel you can discover Venice and one can easily reach by boat from San Zaccaria all the wonderful small islands around Venice, like Torcello, Burano, Murano.
Closed to the hotel there are every type of shops: a pharmacy is just at 20 metres from the hotel in the very same square, two banks are next door. The nearest post office is by the rialto bridge no more than 400 metres far from the property.

* An extended continental breakfast is served downstairs adjacent to the small and extremely cosy bar.
* In the wonderful square of Amalfi, a short distance from the sea front and the beach. Fontana hotel offers a mixture of elegance and familiarity, and warm hospitality for which we are well known.
* A warm family atmosphere prevails from the sitting room and bar throughout the four floors of the hotel. The well-lit, well-furnished rooms have shiny bathrooms, pleasing color schemes, and crisp cotton bedspreads.

* The hotel offers 108 bedrooms 2 receiving halls, a conference room, restaurant, a shopping point for religious articles and typical products of the area, an ample carpark and private parking facilities.
* All rooms are equipped with private bathroom, satellite TV, telephone and air-conditioning, and either overlook the the San Provolo or San Zaccaria squares. Rooms with private terrace also available on request only.

Hotel Fontana
We had an excellent stay at this hotel. Everything the other travelers wrote about this hotel is true. Friendly and helpfull staff, clean and with style furniture room. Also, close to everything you need.

Family run establishment with a very good value
We stayed at Casa Fontana for 2 nights. The hotel is perfectly placed for a short/first visit to Venice as it's only 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco, and the water bus stops for the airport. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the room was large and clean with a small but adequate en-suite.
Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice, and it kept us going most of the day. There are some reasonable restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, and some Pizzarias opposite, but certainly do ask reception staff.
One thing I would say is that it was very hot in our room when we arrived, so we had to turn the radiator off for our whole stay, but this was an easily remidied problem. Overall we were very happy with our stay at Casa Fontana and found Fontana as a very good value for money.

Excellent family-run hotel
Fontana hotel or Casa Fontana is an excellent family-run hotel. Room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had air conditioning. The location couldn't have been better - on a small square with a couple of good restaurants, within a couple of minutes walk of St Mark's Square, and within easy walking distance of all the sights. Most importantly in Venice, it was a short level walk to the water bus stop - which made it very easy to find, and meant no need to carry suitcases over bridges. The breakfast was just right to get the day started. We would definitely stay at Fontana Hotel again.

Enchantés par ce choix !
Après 4 nuits passées fin février, difficile de formuler un reproche : Prix parmi les plus abordables ; excellente situation au coeur de Venise à proximité de restaurants et de l'arrêt de Vaporetto le plus stratégique pour visiter les environs ; chambre simple mais calme, lumineuse, avec lit bien ferme en 160 ; acceuil sympatique. En cherchant bien les moins, on trouve que la salle de bains de la chambre est petite.

Fontana Hotel Oct'06
6 of us just returned from an excellent weekend in Venice. Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice, clean rooms with character and a great location 2 mins from main waterbus/taxi stop, 3 mins walk to St. Marks Square. Tip - waterbus from Marco Polo Airport is 12 euro each, so if in a group, get your own watertaxi/speedboat for 110 euro and travel in style. Highly recommend this hotel, great value for money for a 2 star.
