France is the largest country and a unitary semi-presidential republic located in Western Europe. It's geographically one of the most diverse countries in Europe. France boasts numerous megalithic sites from the Neolithic period, including the exceptionally dense Carnac stones site. Written History began with the invasion of the Romans, between 118 and 50 BC. Starting then, France was part of the Roman Empire.
