Gershwin Hotel
If you love art or if you want to experience a unique accommodation, then the perfect hotel for you is the Gershwin Hotel! I have a lot of artist friends who prefer staying there more than a luxury hotel in New York even if they can afford staying in one. I finally understood why they keep coming back to Gershwin Hotel last February when I decided to take a trip to New York and book a hotel there.
Walking inside the Gershwin Hotel is like entering an art gallery because of all the paintings and art works popping all over the place including the masterpieces of Stefan Lindfors, Billy Name, Michael Lin and my favorite Andy Warhol. I decided to stay on the Cozy Canadian Cocoon located on the fabulous 4th floor. The bricked wall, old chandelier, animal skinned sheets and the moose-head on top of the bed made me miss snuggling with a boyfriend so I decided to go out and hit the streets to party!
I started my day touring New York and visiting the wonderful attractions nearby including the Empire State Building and the Theatre District in Times Square. I also bought some veggies and fruits at the Union Square Green Market so that I have some snacks back at the hotel. Some hotels don’t cater to vegetarians and those who are concerned with what they eat and drink, but Gershwin Hotel does offering the Birch Coffee which specializes in bird-friendly teas and coffee, organic wines and beers and organic food. Now I don’t have to worry about finding healthy food and getting affordable accommodation next time I return to New York.
