Good & Bad of the Gran Caribe Club Puntarena Hotel
My husband and I was there for one week (Sept 25 to Oct 2, 09). My first impression was not very good. First of all, the check in desk personnel kept our passports when we checked in; This was worrysome for us. Then the elevators were out of order. We were on the fourth floors and had to wait for almost an hour for our suitcases to get up to our rooms. Once we were settled; everything went well. The maid, servers in the restaurant and bar men were all very, very, helpful and polite.
I enjoyed the beach the most and water coconuts from the gardeners daily. The food were okay; if you get to the restaurants early. I was shocked that there were no vegetables for the first three days. Lots and lots of carbs and proteins but little vegetables and salads. I enjoyed the fish at the beach restaurant.
