Very Classy with Excellent Location

We were and pleasantly surprised and really pleased with The Grand Elysée.The reviews gave my wife and I the impression this was going to be an older and sort of stuffy hotel with pretty good amenities, but this place is first class all the way. The rooms are very large and the extras in the room and bathroom were top tier. The spa is available at no charge (unlike other hotels in this class) and is beautiful with about anything you would need in the way of saunas, whirlpools, indoor pool, tanning bed and so forth. There are many restaurants in the area, so we only ate a light breakfast in the lounge just off the lobby. The food was O.K. and overpriced, but that's what you get when you order a la carte in a place like this. We had many choices where to stay in Hamburg, and there a lots of nice hotels, but we would stay at The Grand Elysée again in a heartbeat!
