My husband and I stayed here for one night. We arrived by train in Genoa and were very happy to see the hotel just across the street, very convenient! The hotel is nice (we were booked in the Savoia Continental but actually had a room in the Savoia Majestic, they are both connected). The staff were very nice. Our room was very spaceous, with clean spaceous modern bathroom and our room had a living room, great air conditioning. This was the only hotel in Itlay we stayed at where we got a real double bed and not just two singles pushed together!
Breakfast was very nice too. The only thing I would mention is that we were told by the staff that there is a bus (volabus 100) that stops at the train station and goes directly to the airport. Unfortunately we stood in a line for about 45 min and saw two buses passed us, we flagged the driver down and he said they don't stop there (even though there was a bus stop for it....very confusing!), we eventually decided to take a taxi and found other confused people from the line to share it with. The cost was 12 euros, but one must pay for the cabie's ride back to the vicinity if they leave that area, so we paid a total 24 euros the the driver (not bad when it is split up). We wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again, for the price it is a great deal! |

A very convenient hotel if you are using the cruise terminal @ Genoa. Lovely, refurbished rooms, luxury bathroom and an excellent buffet breakfast. English speaking staff who were very helpful.Good value for money for a 4* hotel. There is a free city bus no 100 that leaves the airport and stops right outside the hotel. |

My husband and I stayed at the Savoia the night before a cruise. The hotel has recently renovated their rooms and gave us a room in the Continental which is attached. I complained since the Continental was less expensive but then realized the room was actually a lot nicer since we asked to see one in the Majestic. The room was big by European standards, had a large marble bathroom and a two sided view of the square below (unfortunately full of derelicts). It's right across the street from the train station which was superconvenient to go to Portofino and the surrounding area. The hotel is a couple of blocks from the port which had a water taxi to Portofino which would be easier. Unfortunately, our ship actually sailed from Savona which was a 100 Euro taxi ride so we had to take the train. I recommend room 535 in the Continental! |
