I have stayed here several times. The rooms are spacious with modern bathrooms, comfortable beds, mini bar, room service. The staff is friendly. The art nouveau breakfast room with a buffet breakfast is a real treat. The best thing about this hotel is the air conditioning in summer (absolutely necessary in humid Graz.) A good location with a short pretty walk to the center of town. This is one of the best bargains in Austria price-wise for a five star hotel-
Overlook the slightly dated lobby. I recommend it highly. |

We were surprised to arrive in Graz and discover that air conditioning is a rare find! We were booked at the Romantik Hotel (4 Star) but the lack of air conditioning on a 34C day made it impossible to stay! We transferred to the Grand Hotel for their air conditioned rooms.
Unfortunately the air conditioning isn't entirely effective. The hotel is located on the river and close to the major sites and shopping. They offer free internet service to hotel guests. The rooms are small but very modern, clean and comfortable. The service was friendly and warm.
The breakfast was exceptional and served in a spectacular dining room.
Graz is a fabulous city and well worth the visit. |
