Great hotel not very far from PlaÃ§a Catalunya. You can even walk on very nice days all the way from the hotel down to La Ramblas! (it would be a 30min walk) there are stores along the way as you go towards the university of barcelona.... so you won't feel it's a long walk cause you'd be shopping along the way. The hotel is pretty new so it was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It's a 5-10min walk from the subway station-either Urgell and Rocafort . There are a lot of little restaurants around the area. A great cheap restaurant with excellent food is just right across the street. L'escargot. Great food! Overall the hotel was worth going with a reasonable price. I would definately go back.

I just returned from the Hotel Open last night. Very nice hotel. Just opened last month (April 04) so the place was spotless. Very modern facilities. Very nice staff. At first, I found the place a little out of the way for me, especially if you want to go back and forth during the day to your hotel. But then I really started to like the location because a couple of days is about all I could take of the La Ramblas area, and I was glad I didn't stay there. More quiet and a lot cheaper restaurants around the Hotel Open.
