One of the nicest places I have ever stayed at. Small, intimate with a wonderful staff. Very clean. Large, gorgeous room with great AC. Terrific breakfast in an intimate breakfast room. Great location to walk anywhere. If you have a chance to stay here you won't be sorry. Only complaint is the lack of a shower curtain to keep the water out of the bathroom when you shower--minor glitch.

We went to Florence for our wedding in November. I found a great rate for the Helvetia through gtahotels ads and so was expecting a room on the small side. Yet, the Helvetia took great care of us. They gave us the one room - 363 - with its own balcony. And everything about it was wonderful. Fruit and flowers when we arrive, different treats on our Italian linen sheets each evening, delicious buffet breakfast, reservations at all the good restaurants. It was more than I could have asked for... And, this is my second time there so it wasn't just the wedding! If you want to splurge and be in the center of the city, I highly recommend this hotel

This is the perfect hotel to explore Florence. It is in the heart of the historic center & next to the Palazzo Strozzi where the wonderful Botticelli exhibit is being held. My room was small but beautiful and I was treated like a queen...the staff was very helpful at all hours. If you like a lovely, small & charming *****hotel in the center of the city this is it. I also got an excellent rate thru gtahotels (which is where I found it).

Best hotel in Florence with a great staff that is highly attentive to your needs. My wife and I have stayed twice and have also stayed at numerous other hotels in Firenze. The rooms are wonderful and the location can't be beat.

The hotel is wonderful in every way. classy, gorgeous, from top to bottom. not a detail overlooked. small suite was great for 2 adults and child. location is perfect. staff was fantastic. stay a long time.

We were in florence in May 2003. We reserved a junior suite at the Bristol and Helvetia. It was expensive but it was money well spent.Perfectly located near everything you want to see: Piazza Republica, the Duomo, etc. The hotel is on a quiet street. The staff is always ready to help and service is excellent. The room was large and very nice. However there was no view. I suspect that most rooms have no view. The breakfast was also excellent. I would certainly highly recommend this hotel. It is really a luxury 5 stars.
