We frequently stay at the Hilton Glasgow; whenever we have to go to Glasgow on business it is our first choice of Hotel. I love it - the decor, the brightness, the spaciousness, it is an absolutely beautiful hotel. The staff are courteous and helpful, the concierge is wonderful, as are all the porters who always make me feel very welcome. I asked for a spare pillow and it was with me in 2 minutes flat. The bedrooms are without fail immaculate. I must agree though with another comment, that the entrance is a nightmare to find!! Now we have visited a few times we know our way in, but the first time - well! we went round and round for ages. Some clear, large signposting would be really beneficial. I'm sure the hotel have lost guests to the Marriott because they couldn't find the way in. I love this hotel and have nothing but the highest praise for it. I will never stay in another hotel in Glasgow unless the Hilton falls down. May that never happen.

great service, food and value! not the best location but only a short taxi ride to city centre. hotel facilities are fantastic and the staff couldn't be more helpful. give the mini bar a miss - a tin of coke costs ?1.95 !! bathroom was lovely, clean and spacious with a really powerful, hot shower. 3 restaurants in hotel which you should really make a reservation for in advance, weekends can be VERY busy! the car park at the hotel is very small and is open to other people, not just guests so getting a space is pot luck.

At my visit to the Hilton I found the staff were truly fantastic! The girls at the front desk were extremley friendly and bursting to make your stay special. The rooms were spacious and the views amazing. (Ask before booking to stay in a high floor overlooking the Clyde). The hotel had 2 restaurants and a bar, which I unfortunatley didn't get a chance to visit. As renowned the Hilton can be slightly pricey, a continetal breakfast for 2 was over ?30! The hotels location to the city centre is not in a desirable area and I do not reccommend walking here late at night. A taxi from the front door to the city centre is only ?3 and well worth the cash. The health facilities were great and staff again very helpful, a pool, spa, sauna/steam room and gym are on the lower ground floor.

The hotel is fine for a four star property (three stars if you are American) but don't go expecting anything more. There wasn't anything luxurious about this place at all, even Camerons the much hyped fine dining restaurant was very basic in terms of its food and service. The bellman was a real gem and Glasgow is well worth a visit, the architecture is amazing.

During a month-long visit to Scotland, I had occasion to stay at the Glasgow Hilton on 3 separate occasions. It is a very professionally-run hotel with quality staff to match. Its only draw-back is the distance from town center and rail stations, but that is more than offset by superior service, food and bar facilities, and responsiveness to client needs. There was no problem in leaving a suitcase for several days while I took a lighter bag on a 3-night trip to Lerwick & Aberdeen. Several staff greeted me by name on return stays even though their only frame of reference could be memory.
