A short break at the Hilton, York - no leisure facilities and previous review that said the hotel was "tired" so not expecting too much. However, very pleasantly surprised with a now "wide awake" hotel - excellent food for the inclusive dinner on the first night - beef wellington to die for!! Staff friendly and attentive, everything you needed in the room - so often you have to phone housekeeping for hairdryers etc.- but everything was there in the room.- and all in working order!
Hotel ideally situated within the old city walls; we parked the car in the hotel car park and left it there the entire time.
Some queing for main attractions but hey, what is the rush?
Excellent package and higly recommended.

Super location in this wonderful city. Rooms fine, if on the small side. Restaurant is very ordinary - don't eat there; there are plenty of great restaurants in York. Limited car parking, which is charged for. Very pleasant staff.
