Stayed in this hotel for 8 nights. Good location, tube only 2 minute walk, hotel is clean and new, rooms are nice, staff is helpfull, continental breakfast was good, the only problem is that the Old Street is very noisy 24/7, so if you get street side room it's going to be hard to sleep. Next time I'm in London will stay in this hotel again.

First time in London for me and my girl-friend, I found this hotel on internet between a thousand of similar hotels. The location is very good, very near to the tube, on the northern line, the hotel is only two minutes from the metro station. The first sight was negative, Old Street is dirty and noisy. But at the hotel we have found a friendly and helpful staff. Our room was spacious, with an adeguate bathroom. My suggestion is: ask immediately for a room on the quiet side of the hotel, otherwise you will be wake up in the middle of the night by ambulances and police cars. Continental breakfast is fantastic! In the neighbourhood there is a plenty of pubs, take away and markets. If I come again to London, you will surely find me there.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, London City , for 4 days on my recent first time visit to London. The hotel was pleasant and clean and the rooms were fairly spacious. This was one of the few hotels that could actually accomodate 4 persons with the availability of its pullout sofa. The continental breakfast was more than adequate with a good selection of cereals, breads, yogurt, fruit, etc. The tube was less than 5 minutes walk, and from the tube station one could be anywhere in London within a short time. I recommend it highly.

On my first trip to the UK, my husband's company supplied the hotel. We were really quite lucky, as this location was superb for our needs. As he was there on business and I was there to sightsee, we both needed to be near the tube, which we were. Breakfast was provided in the morning, which was quite adequate. In fact, on the last morning, we were up so early that breakfast wasn't being served yet, but the gracious desk clerk opened the entire breakfast an hour early just because we were there. Now THAT's hospitality. The room was a normal Holiday Inn room, complete with two double beds, a good selection of television channels, and a relatively spacious bathroom. I have absolutely no complaints about this location, and that is saying a lot considering that back here in the States, hotels are my profession.

quite simply, it's the most useful hotel I know. We use it when on business in the City, on a big night out in London where the thought of having to catch the last train home just doesn't appeal (and nor do the pay-by-the-hour hotels in King's Cross...), when we want an excuse not to stay at my parents' when in London... in fact, quite a lot. Don't expect frills, fancy toiletries or chocolate on your pillow, but the service is unerringly good - we've never been woken by a maid, however long we've slept, and when I left a necklace there by mistake they posted it on, recorded delivery, within days. The breakfast is unlimited but unremarkable and stops serving at 9am. However, there's a splendid caff (not a cafe, a caff) round the corner that does breakfast all day every day. And it's right near the tube. Really, I can't recommend it highly enough.
