I stayed at the Quality in February this year with my 2 daughters aged 13 and 15. We wanted a convenient yet inexpensive hotel for a city break in York and were very happy with our experience. It was convenient for all parts of York, and we could walk everywhere. The hotel itself was modern, clean and welcoming. Our room was not spacious but adequate as we were out and about much of the time. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice and good value. My only slight criticism was the evening meals in the restaurant were a bit pricey for a family, so we ate elsewhere in the evenings - there is plenty of choice in York. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

good location - 10 mins walk to main shopping area, very clean in all parts of the hotel, staff not especially friendly but not unfriendly either, bed comfy, very modern to the point of being a bit stark, awkwardly placed mirror in rooms (above a small desk in the corner) , average sized rooms, nice big shower cubicle but no bath, our room on the first floor overlooked a brick wall, however I did not go to York to gaze out of the window all day so not a problem. Self-serve hot & cold buffet breakfast and plenty of it, so there's no excuse to go hungry, evening meal menu looked nice but we didn't try this as we ate out in the town, overall a bit basic for the price but a good clean modern hotel in a good location nevertheless.
