The Concorde Saint-Lazare's status as a landmark of cultural and artistic significance was confirmed in 1989 with the meticulous restoration of the grand foyer and its classification as an historical monument. Situated within the heart of the '3 Parises'- the business district, the cultural quarter and the famous shopping areas of the Boulevard Haussmann the Concorde Saint-Lazare enjoys a truly privileged location.
From its imposing, yet elegant exterior one enters the monumental hall, which, in keeping with the hotel's grand origins, boasts jewel encrusted columns of pink granite. The Lobby, impressively styled in the Baroque tradition with mirrors, bronze and crystal chandeliers and marble pillars is adorned with paintings and sculptures specially commissioned from artist Charles Joseph Lameire. The new furniture in the lobby is the work of the famous designer Hierro. It perfectly fuses the Eiffel-inspired style of the building's origins with a contemporary edge - seamlessly representing the modern yet historic atmosphere of the hotel.
The hotel has an international feel, not least because 10 of the 12 reception rooms are named after capitals of Europe and the very streets which surround the Concorde Saint-Lazare are also named after the European metropolitan destinations. * The Golden Black Bar
The décor in this unique establishment is inspired by early 20th century Africa, and the Great Exhibition of 1889. Taking you on a journey to heady climes, its animal print, polished brass and luxurious black leather create an atmosphere of world travel and exotic locations. Chief Barman Joel Vernhes serves cocktails from around the world, and some of his very own creations - such as the Maracumba - are unique to the Golden Black Bar.
