A very nice hotel in a great location about five minute's walk from Las Ramblas. If you are travelling to Barcelona in the Summer the rooftop pool is a must, I didn't think the beach was great. The pool is only open from 10.00 to 20.00 so no early morning or late night swimming. There is a very faint rumble audible once the metro starts running but most people will leave their rooms at this point to see the city. The metro stops at around midnight so it shouldn't impinge on your sleep. I found the staff helpful and they spoke a little English which was very usefull. A lot of the Catalans seem to speak some English and are normally pretty friendly. The city itself is beautiful and well worth visiting and I would recommend this hotel as an ideal base from which to see the city. Ignore the bad reviews and don't eat in the Hard Rock Cafe as it's terrible. But there is a Starbuck's nearby!

What a wonderful hotel. Textbook "boutique" (so expect small), the Jazz is brand new and therefore pristine. Rooms were too hot until I was able to figure out the thermostat (ask for help...it is not intuitive). Great linens, decor, and bathroom...be sure to take a bath...one of the BEST. Rooftop pool is a must. Did not eat there...but why would someone visiting other than on business eat at the hotel? Get out and experience the wonder that is Barcelona...greatest city in the world! HIGHLY recommend.

We stayed for six nights at the Hotel Jazz and we had a great time. It was the best 3* hotel I've ever been in! The rooms have the 'wow' factor upon entering, and the bathrooms are great. They've definitely succeeded on creating a boutique hotel for people on a tighter budget.
We found the service really good, and the staff very helpful, and sitting on the roof terrace with drinks, overlooking the city was a holiday highlight.
It's really well located, too.
The only criticism, if I were to have one, is that the pool is quite small and shallow. But this is made up for because it's pretty darned good for a 3* city hotel to have a pool at all, and it's always good fun cooling off at skyscape level!

Very nice hotel with spacious rooms and a wonderful location. Certainly worth the very reasonable price.

Hotel Jazz was absolutely wonderful. The spanking new hotel has been open less than a year and it's a winner. The spotlessly clean, contemporary designed rooms are very comfy. Service was friendly and the free internet access in the restaurant area is a great idea. My family loved it. We would definately stay again.

What a hotel the Jazz is.
At first had a bit of a panic as the commercial units underneath have not been finished yet and from first glances it looked at though the hotel had not been finished!
Had a little wait for our room but it was well worth it.
The rooms are fantastic - everything you needed, safe, mini bar, hairdryer, toilitries (including razors and toothbrushes!).
The bed was the biggest bed I have ever seen!
The continental breakfast was good too. Plenty to choose from - cheeses, meats, different pastries, poached/scrambled/boiled eggs, omlettes, the list was endless. Good service too.
The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating.
If you are thinking of booking this hotel, go for it - its great.
The location is fantastic too - near the Universitat metro station and a 2 minute walk from the Pl. de Catalunya where all buses and the main square is.

Stayed here 4 nights. August 2004.
good location, spotless hotel, good rooms and extras in bathroom...pool not bad for a 'cool off' post shopping.
Staff (Bar) alittle short at times-?need more staff
Lifts not stopping on correct floors!
I WILL stay there again.

What a hotel, this has everything that you could want! Is very modern, with all the room facilities that you could ask for!
Its good for couples, went their with my boyfriend and we had a great time!
Was a bit nervous at first when we turned up to see that their was building work going on which looked like the hotel, but then realised that the hotel was round the side.
Got to the hotel and was allowed to check in straight away, rooms were cleaned every day and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
A roof top swimming pool with which you can see Barcelona.
I would deffinetly recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay their again if i had the chance!

My son (18) and I stayed at the delightful Hotel Jazz for four nights in early August. The location is fabulous, the service excellent, and only the breakfast spread became somewhat tiresome... All subways stop nearby and you can get anywhere in the city from Pza Catalunya. Our room was modern and a nice size with all conveniences (great bathroom). Oh?€? the rooftop pool was lovely, but contained some very unpleasant chemicals (anyway, you should just go the beach!). This is a new and swanky, boutique hotel and I believe it has restaurant plans. I think I would rather stay in a new hotel in the city and not be concerned about air conditioning or street noise that go with some of the older facilities. Barcelona is eminently walkable ?€“ just avoid the Ramblas after walking there once ?€“ take a map to navigate the old parts of the city.

We stayed at the Jazz hotel for 4 nights in August and thought it was perfect. The decor was modern and original with all mod cons and some nice touches. The bed was the biggest I have ever slept in (8 foot?!), and the bathrooms are lovely. It is all spanking new and has an upmarket feel with little touches such as Plasma screen TV. The rooftop pool area and views should not be missed, although it is not deep and they had overdone the chemicals. In contradiction to one or two other reviews I read we found ALL the staff to be delightfullly cheerful, friendly and helpful. Most importantly, the location is superb, being 3 minutes walk from the top of La Rambla.
