Very good value for money
Hotel in general:
It is a very centrally located hotel with 50 rooms. The rooms are clean and have a small bathroom. Each room has a fridge, a safe and a TV. The free WiFi access in the rooms is on the signal strength (according to always) something bad)
The breakfast buffet is included, internationally oriented and perfectly adequate. The breakfast room is also clean it a calm atmosphere at breakfast.
The guest structure is mixed. Both the age, nationality, and the basic travel (business, holidays ...).
Location and surroundings
It is situated on a slope and is built into the mountain. So not all rooms have a window outside.
The nearest metro station "Gloria" is 200m away. The metro line runs both the center (4 stations) and for Capacabana (about 25 minutes).
The hotel is situated in a quiet side street. However, there are only 100m to the main road on which one finds restaurants and supermarkets.
The hotel is happy to booking of city tours, etc. to help.
The national airport can be reached in 15 minutes by taxi.
The international airport is further out and you should allow about 40 euros for the ride.
Service
The reception staff is very friendly and speaks English. It is happy to help, to get from A to B.
The rooms are cleaned every day and gives it fresh towels every other day.
The complaint that is missing in our room safe was enough done after a long discussion with a room change.
The hotel has a computer with internet connection, which you can rent for 1 / 2 hour.
Otherwise, the hotel has a free WiFi connection. The password for the connection to get at the reception.
Rooms:
The rooms are spread over 4 floors. Since the house is built into a hillside, some rooms have no windows to the outside, but a window into the hallway. This has a curtain as a screen.
The room is about 16 square meters large and have a small bathroom.
Each room has a refrigerator, a television (only Portuguese programs) and a safe. The refrigerator should fill you yourself (supermarket is only 200 m).
Tips:
The travel period in September was great. The Sugar Loaf and the Corcovado could be seen from great distance. Even swimming in the sea were very possible.
The hotel has in comparison to other hotels in Rio a great value for money. With its central location, all sights within easy reach.
Cost-effective transfer to international airport: by taxi to the first national airport (Arrivals can settle in) and then the bus company "Real" that is safe and the international airport for 3 euros leaving.
