Hotel Okura Amsterdam is located on the banks of the Amstel Canal, close to the financial, cultural and entertainment district of Amsterdam. The Rai Congress & Exhibition Centre is within walking distance. The city´s motorways are easy accessible and Schiphol International Airport is only a 15 minute drive away.
From Schiphol International Airport: From the airport it takes a fifteen minutes drive to the hotel. If you do not have your own transport, you can use the airport shuttle bus. It will take you directly from Schiphol to the hotel and the other way around. |

* The French Ciel Bleu Restaurant has been the proud holder of a Michelin star since 2005. Onno Kokmeijer says: “The Ciel Bleu’s constant aim is to continue surprising the guests with culinary creations based on French cuisine and the finest regional ingredients. This Michelin star is a much-appreciated acknowledgement of our work.”
* The Japanese specialty restaurant Yamazato received its star in 2002 and is still the only traditional Japanese restaurant with one Michelin star in Europe. Akira Oshima says: “I am honoured to receive a star once again. It’s a recognition of the work all our kitchen and restaurant staff put in.”
* On the hotel’s ground floor you will find the Okura’s Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka. Teppanyaki literally means ’to grill on a hot plate’, which is traditionally the oldest way of preparing food in Japan. In Japan this kind of dining is very popular, in part because the chef prepares the most delicious dishes right before guests’ eyes. Various kinds of fish and meat, including the very exclusive Wagyu beef, are prepared à la minute with ’’Japanese precision’. The Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka’s interior is in a contemporary Japanese style, the design of which is based on stone, wood, water and fire. These elements reflect the prominent role nature plays in Japanese daily life. The eleven teppanyaki hot plates will seat seven to ten guests each and are perfect for both business and festive occasions. It is also possible to reserve a private room with two hot plates, offering room to a maximum of 18 guests. Private lunches for at least ten guests are available on request.
* On the hotel’s ground floor you will find the Okura’’s Brasserie Le Camelia, named after a beautiful, delicious fragrant exotic flower - the camelia. The restaurant’s interior exudes the atmosphere of an Art Deco-style Parisian ’brasserie’ , making it an attractive meeting place for all kinds of colourful people, from convention attendees to relaxing shoppers. In addition to the lavish daily breakfast buffet Le Camelia’s kitchen offers a selection of international dishes and a set menu based on seasonal products. The brasserie is not only perfect for informal occasions, but also for business meetings.
* La Serre bar:
Lobby bar and lounge with an outdoor terrace. A cozy meeting place for coffee, cocktails or a light snack.
* Ciel Bleu bar:
An international cocktail bar, located at the 23rd floor, offering a panoramic view over Amsterdam.
* For business and festive needs, Hotel Okura Amsterdam offers the largest and most luxurious meeting and dining locations of any other five star hotel in Amsterdam. The entire first floor, which comprises 15 rooms and 4 foyers (2,800 m²), is ideally suited for congresses, product presentations, dinners, and parties for up to 1,500 persons. The rooms can be used in combination for one large-scale event, focusing activities on one floor. A large service lift offers a unique opportunity to present large objects such as boats and cars. The jewel in the crown is the magnificent Grand Ballroom (900 m² or 9,688 sq.ft) which can host meetings of up to 1,200 persons. Its magnificent style and beautiful design adorned with Italian gold-plated lamps add allure and grandeur to any occasion. The Grand Ballroom is the perfect venue for large scale-meetings, gala dinners or exclusive car presentations. The Grand Ballroom and most of the other rooms can be devided into smaller rooms. |

My fiance and I stayed at the Hotel Okura for one night on one of their Health Package Breaks. It was pretty pricey, 140E per person, but this included dinner in the Ciel Bleu resturant (which was amazing, great food service and views) and a gorgeous breakfast...
