Having opened in 1897 in a privileged location in the centre of Oerlikon, the Sternen Oerlikon Hotel soon became famous as a popular venue for visitors to the Zurich Exhibition Centre and the Hallenstadion. Since that time, many international companies have located in Zurich North, taking advantage of the excellent traffic connections to the city of Zurich and Zurich Kloten airport.
Sternen Oerlikon Hotel is situated in the heart of Oerlikon, a 5 minute walk to Zurich's Zuspa Exhibition Centre, to the Hallenstadion and to the Oerlikon train station from where you can reach Zurich's main train station within 6 minutes and the Zurich-Kloten airport within 5 minutes. The tramway stop "Sternen Oerlikon" is just opposite the hotel.
LOCATION
Sternen Oerlikon Hotel is situated in the centre of Oerlikon, a few minutes' walk to Zurich's Exhibition Centre, 10 minutes by car to the city centre and 5 minutes to the Zurich-Kloten airport.
PROPERTY AMENITIES
* The breakfast room with an inviting breakfast buffet and an international news paper selection is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Coffee and croissants for guests in a hurry are being served at the bar next to the front desk.
* Restaurant Sternen Oerlikon : The restaurant Sternen Oerlikon is located in the same building as the hotel and is managed as an independent company. Peter Waser, Bruno Pompili and team offer daily a nice selection of Italian dishes for lunch and dinner.
* The hotel lobby was completely renovated in 2003. The front desk is now furnished with a small welcoming bar and an internet corner.
* Suitable for meetings of up to 12 persons. Technical equipment can be supplied upon request, e.g. overhead projector and flip chart.
ROOM AMENITIES
* All 51 rooms are equipped with shower or bath and toilet, hairdryer, cable TV, radio, minibar and direct-dial telephone with an analogue modem connection. Smoking and non-smoking rooms.
* Some of the spacious "Standard rooms" are located away from the street. The smaller "City rooms" are with city view.

Clean room, convenient accommodation
We stayed at the Sternen Oerlikon for 2 nights while on a short trip to Zurich. Sternen Oerlikon is located in suburbs of Oerlikon, a few minutes' walk to Zurich's Exhibition Centre, 10 minutes by car to the city center. The hotel is right next to a tram stop and there are buses that run into Zurich. There are numerous restaurants around. Our room was simple and clean, including a bathroom that transformed itself into a shower stall. We did not expect much and actually received exactly what we planned. All in all, Sternen Oerlikon offered a clean accommodation and convenient location – all for a reasonable price.

The Sternen Oerlikon is a very clean budget hotel located in a nice suburb of Zurich. Our room was small with a comfortable double bed (2 singles put together) and a couple of sitting chairs and round table. The bathroom was adequate but the sink was inside the bedroom. Our room faced the main street occupied by a constant flow of trams, and buses but it was very quiet at night. The hotel is about five easy walking blocks from the main train station in Oerlikon (if you have luggage, you will have to negotiate the steps in the train station). We loved the stay here because it was a good value - about three miles from the center of Zurich, quiet, friendly and easily accessible.
