Established in 1865, Imperial Hotel boasts an architectural influence of the high Victorian period. At that time Malta was a British colony and many of the people starting imitating British lifestyles, including building their stately homes along their architectural styles.
In fact the Imperial Hotel boasts a grandiose sweeping staircase in its lobby. It is one of the most beautiful examples of such staircases still found today, and in fact it was featured in a movie by Roger Moore in the 1970s.
