this hotel is a good option if you are looking for good value. The location isn't fantastic - I wouldn't walk around there on my own after dark. It is, however, close to the city centre and is safe during the day (I would just get a taxi at night). The hotel itself is fine - clean, warm, and the staff are generally pleasant and friendly.

Stayed here recently with my wife and daughter. We were given a room that was plenty big enough for the 3 of us and at a very reasonable rate. OK it lacks a bit of character but having stayed in some of the more 'characterful' and more expensive B&Bs on Western Rd in rooms no bigger than a shoe box I know which I would prefer. The buffet breakfast is fine too although you pay extra for this. As for the location it was very handy and I certainly didn't feel threatened when I made the very short walk (5 mins max.) to/from the city centre, unlike one of the other reviewers.

I've stayed here a number of times, and although I prefer to stay in non-chain hotels that have a bit of character and a welcoming staff, I find this place satisfies an all accounts. Granted, if you stay here on a weekend you're probably sharing with stag and hen parties and other sundry drunkards, but there's a general quiet about its expansive corridors and spacious rooms. I use the internet for long periods when I stay here because the hotel's charge is very reasonable. On three or four occasions I've checked out and not even been charged for my internet time. The location is very handy, too. Cork is compact, and Jury's is right next to the bus station and Patrick Street and just a 5 minute walk from the train station., while it's relative distance from shops and pube means that there's very little street noise. I've never had the breakfast there so I can't vouch for it. Being able to check in very early and very late at night makes this a handy choice, too. And it's always got rooms free.
