Just returned from our second stay at the Hotel Kette, and it was even nicer than the first. The staff welcomed us back and treated us royally for our entire visit. We have decided that from now on, we will end all of our European vacations with a stay at the Hotel Kette. It feels like home.

What a cute hotel. It has a lot of character. I really liked it. We had everything we needed. The staff was so good they even handed us our key as we were walking into the hotel before we asked for it. The rooms very clean and nice. Is on a quiet street that sometimes it was nice to get off of the main street and walk in the just off the main street path away from all the people. The location was great. We walked all the way up to the train station. What a beautiful city and people. Miss it already.

We've just spent 4 nights at the KETTE. Lovely place, very clean with efficient staff, good buffet breakfast, but best get it early as the room can get crowded. We'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 nights in Feb/March 2004. Excellent location right near St Marks Square. Very friendly helpful staff who spoke good english. Recently refurbished, good decor and good marble bathrooms.
Very good buffet breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This was the second time we stayed at the Kette. The last time, we'd booked through a travel company and ended up with a small but perfectly good room.
Having heard it had been refurbished, we decided to stay there on our return visit in December and booked it ourselves online.
This time we got an extremely big room (for a european city hotel) that was beautifully decorated. The only caveat was that they've now banned the guests from using the plug points for their own use, which made charging mobile phones or using my own hairdryer virtually impossible.
The staff were as courteous as ever, and as the hotel was on the quiet side, the breakfast room was nice and quiet (at busier times, you could have to wait for a spare table).
The location of this hotel is also excellent. Its close to St Marks square, but just far enough away to make it less touristy and less expensive. Its also close to Harry's Bar, if you fancy expensive cocktails, or La Fenice, which was just about to reopen in December.

My husband and I spent three lovely days at the Kette in January 2004.
The hotel is well located (if a little hard to find at first), clean and well-decorated, staff friendly and helpful, bathrooms huge and well-appointed, and breakfast quite acceptable.

Hotel Kette was a superb venue for a surprise anniversary gettaway. Our room was in the 'Superior Double' category, and matched this description to a T. The staff were very helpful e.g organised our night at the opera. The breakfast was great as an extra stomach lining when going out to face the nippy winter weather. December is a great time of the year to visit a Catholic city like Venice, San Marco square is almost empty in the morning (despite the pigeons ofcourse). We were very lucky with the weather, no flooding, and bright and sunny. Must also mention the showers in the hotel (as nearly every other reviewer does), they were terrific! Happy holidays!

A very nice hotel. We had two rooms...one for my wife and I and one for the three kids. The kids room was fantastic, right on the canal and pretty large. Ours was much smaller but still good. It was a little hard to find the hotel but worth the search. Great breakfast.

Took my girlfriend to Venice as a suprise birthday present and stayed at the Hotel Kette. Sound decision. Room overlooked a small canal; bathrooms in marble with a nice power shower. Ace bed. Excellent stay.
Then again, I proposed and she said yes, my judgement may have been clouded! Fantastic stay.
