Kusadasi is lovely resort town in Turkey. It is situated in Central Aegean and near the cities of Izmir and Aydin. The climate of Kusadasi is typical Mediterranean with long, hot summers and short, mild winters. Avoid booking cheap hotels in Kusadasi between July and August when it gets too hot. The name of this Turkish town was derived from the words “Kus” which means “bird” and “Ada” which means island because the peninsula has a bird's head shape. It was originally called “Ephesus Neopolis” during the Byzantine period, and was named “Scala Nova” by the Venetians and Genovese. The town was officially called Kus-Adasi during the 20th century.

There are plenty of interesting events happening in Kusadasi annually, but probably the most popular are the Gold Pigeon Music Festival in June and the Camel Wrestling Festival in January. The beaches of Kusadasi gets packed with holidaymakers especially during summertime and the most popular ones are the Lost Paradise Beach, Long Beach and Ladies Beach. Kids can also have fun in Kusadasi by heading to its water theme parks such as Aqualand and Aquafantasy. Get in touch with nature by visiting the Dilek National Park.
The main public transport within Kusadasi is the dolmus (minibus). There are also taxis and buses that travel to Bodrum, Izmir and the airports. To reach other Greek islands such as Samos, you can take the daily ferry service.
