We stayed at this hotel on March 2004. It is placed just on the top of Lancaster Gate (central line) and there are some pubs close to the hotel. Staff was very polite and helped us about anything. Breakfast is not huge, but enough for the price, and the rooms were not big (as most of London hotels) but they are clean. We reccomend the pub "The Mitre", a very nice pub very close to the hotel.

Recently returned from a stay at the Royal Lancaster and would stay again. Staff very helpful, room on the small side, but good views of Hyde Park. Rooms have hair dryers, safes, TV. Very clean. Large lobby area with doorman. Conceirge desk in center of the lobby. Hotel is on the A2 Bus line from Heathrow which stops outside and practically sits on top of tube station Lancaster Gate, so is in a great location on the central line. Pubs nearby and a couple of other restaurants and a little store like a 7/11.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel, the man on reception wasnt exactly the smiley type but the hotel itself was great. Our room was very nice and clean and had everything we needed for our weekend stay. With a fabulous location, just across the road from Hyde Park and the tube station, we will stay there again.

I'm glad that I found this hotel through a good offer from British Airways. I stayed in Royal Lancaster with my 11 years daughter for two weeks last June, and service was really above my expectations. The multinational collaborative staff members who are fluent in many languages members make people feel at home. Not only service is great, but also location (immediately behind Lancaster Gate tube station and Hyde Park!) and food as well. Defenitly this hotel will be my first choice whenever I come to london again.

...came back from our weeklong London trip last weekend and stayed at Royal Lancaster Hotel. Although not impressive from the outside, the interior of this hotel is a different story! It is elegantly furnished and decorated.
Continental breakfast is included in our package and I had better breakfasts. Towards the end of our stay, my husband and I decided to just eat our breakfast somewhere else, even though we have to pay for it! The food at the Thai Restaurant is superb (although a bit pricey). My only complaint is that they claimed to be an authentic Thai restaurant yet they don't have my favorite dessert of sticky rice and mango!
The room where we stayed is always kept nice, neat and clean (though we only got the shampoo, soap, and bath gel...no lotion). The only problem is that the tub sometimes takes too long to drain and we always end up standing in about 3 inches of water whenever we take a shower!
The staff are very polite and friendly, especially one of the guys in the concierge (I forgot his name but he said he's originally from Italy).
We also love the fact that this hotel is just around the corner from Lancaster Gate tube station. We can get around anywhere easily.
I wouldn't mind going staying in this hotel again when we go back to London (and we will definitely go back).
